Perth Wedding at Red Herring from Nicolle Versteeg

Nicolle Versteeg has officially made my day. My week even. And it’s all because of all the vintage sweetness sitting in this gallery. One look at the lovely will have you swooning over all the sweet details, the stunning light and the effortless yet elegant style this couple has down to a science. It’s picture perfect from the first image to the last, and it’s all sitting pretty right here.

From the Bride… Luke and I met playing water polo at the 2004 University Games in Perth. We were apparently introduced by my best friend and maid of honour who had previously been on a water polo tour with Luke.

Living on opposite sides of the country made it difficult to have a relationship but somehow we managed to do it for a few years. After a while we decided it was time to try living in the same city and I finally made the decision to move over to Melbourne. Luke proposed in June 2012 at his family’s beach house while walking our dog Luna. It was a beautiful day with a lovely back drop. It was exciting calling all our family and friends to share the news.

Living in Melbourne and planning a wedding in Perth had its challenges but we were fortunate to have lovely and talented family and friends who played an important part in ensuring all went to plan. We had people come from all over Australia and also from Brazil which meant so much to us. It was an amazing day and so special to be surrounded by our closest friends and family.

From the Bride… First comes love then comes marriage then comes baby in a baby carriage… well almost! Justin and I met through mutual friends and, yes, it was love at first sight, I found my piggy and he found his Monkey (our nicknames for each other) we have not been apart since! With the surprise arrival of our beautiful daughter Bailey, Justin popped the question! Planning our wedding day was exciting and overwhelming; I wanted it to express what we value most which is our family, friends and the love we have for them and each other. I met our celebrant 18 years ago when he married my parents, I was their flower girl and only 3 at the time, it was an honour to have him marry us and meet our daughter. A short drive from where I grew up is the gorgeous Sandalford winery in the Swan Valley; it had all the elements that I wanted for our wedding day in the one place! Beautiful gardens, soft romantic lighting in a sophisticated rustic room covered with wine barrels from floor to ceiling, it was perfect! My parent’s backyard was the ideal place to have our location photos taken, I am able to sit out the back and relive my wedding day forever.

I love the finer details in weddings, so when it came to our wedding I made sure to have my own personal touch on everything, from the handmade petal cones to the homemade organic honey jars, I wanted it to not only support our theme but reflect us as a couple and give that little extra loving to our wedding and our guests. My husband and I could not stop smiling the whole day, we owe it all to our amazing family and friends for sharing this magical day with us and making it one to remember.

My Advice… trust your gut, every time I made a decision I would end up second guessing myself or changing my mind because I knew it had to be perfect… I always went with my first decision! Don’t let the small things get to you; just remember no one else will notice if something goes wrong, only you! Most importantly, have fun! Embrace every second, the day goes faster than you think.

Western Australia Wedding from Objektiv Photography

Objektiv Photography described this wedding as one of the most beautiful weddings they’ve ever photographed, and one peek at the pictures sitting pretty in this gallery and I can see why. The scenery is beautiful, the details are beautiful, the guests are beautiful – and the Bride and Groom? They are beautiful and then some. So when all of those things combine, it shouldn’t be a surprise that the result is absolute perfection, but it’s hard not be taken a back by something this lovely. See it all here.

From Objektiv PhotographyWe at Objektiv Photography think this is one of the most beautiful weddings we’ve ever photographed. The couple, their gorgeous children, the outdoorsy feel, and just overall emotions, everything contributes to a glowing set of photos. We’ve already included it on our website, and used it for our new portfolio book cover!

What’s really admirable is that the couple, with a help from a few friends, did a lot of the work themselves, such as the set-up for their reception, all table settings, as well as the cake. On top of that, there is a matter of two small children, which would send anyone into a frenzy, but these two still appeared very relaxed and managed to enjoy the day fully. We were also very happy they contributed a great deal to the location shots, with props and ideas. The four wheel drive they had some photos done next to is the one they used for travelling around the country.
