Elegant, Purple-infused Perth Wedding

I can spot Ben Yew‘s images from a mile away. They have this gorgeous feeling about them that I simply can’t put into words. And when he captures a wedding as stunning as this one planned by Cathrin D’Entremont Weddings I become utterly speechless. Perfection doesn’t even cover the images sitting in this gallery, and you can see what I mean right here.

From Cathrin D’Entremont WeddingsJenna and Cuong new that their guests list will exceed 200, so the River Room at the Convention Centre was the perfect place to hold their reception. They chose the colours lavender, silver and white and Jenna wanted 3 dress changes for the actual wedding day so Alvin from Aelkemi created magic.

The couple met for their ‘First Look’ on the same bridge he had proposed. The Church ceremony was very small with only 60 guests and followed immediately by pre-dinner drinks at the Convention Centre. When it was time for the guests to be seated, they walk through a long tunnel all made from draping were we hung some of the couples Engagement photos before they entered the elaborate decorated reception room.

Jenna and Cuong wanted the room their room filled with silk white orchids and crystal chandeliers. Jenna’s first idea in having personal monogrammed glasses as a Bomboniere was quickly changed when all the glasses arrived in pieces by post. Plan B was a dessert buffet for guests to take home mini treats. She was reluctant to do this as she thought that most of her guests do not like sweets. After the dessert table had been opened it was bare within 10 minutes.
Everyone was busy dancing the evening away or had a great time having their photos taken in the photo booth to help fill up Jenna and Chuongs photo book.

Peony Filled Wedding in Perth

Show me a coral peony and I’m done. It’s the prettiest flower there is. Everyone knows that right? Okay, I guess its up for debate but for me, it’s the Kate Middleton, the Ryan Gossling, coolest girl ever of flowers and if you’re with me, you’re going to love this wedding. With photos by Angga Permana and a peony around every corner, this gallery is definitely one for the books.

From the bride…We only had three months to prep our wedding. We expected nothing and had prepared ourselves for the worst. The only thing we were sure of was that we wanted to be married and that was all that matters.

The most unforgettable moment on the day was when our Kombi wedding car broke down in the middle of the highway and all the bridesmaids and I arrived at the ceremony venue 45 minutes late. Surprisingly the whole scene did not break me at all. I was calm throughout and I knew deep in my heart that I will marry Patrick on this fine day and this was just a small bump on the road.

I walked down the aisle to Jack Johnson’s – Angel and I could still remember very dearly all the feelings I had when I walked my way to Patrick. Everyone and everything else was blurry. Patrick’s eyes and smiles were the only things I held on to. It was all very personal and emotional for me.

We couldn’t have picked a better reception venue than Little Creatures Brewery as both of us are big fans of their beers. We also love the rustic romantic feeling that the place offers and for Patrick it was a definite long yes as soon as we were shown the way to the open tap bar.

Thanks to Tali from Twigged flowers by Tali and Sarah from Heart Strings and Pretty Things who worked beyond their ways to create every single details that I had in mind into a such dreamy day. From my flower crown to each and every table centerpieces to the hanging jars, combined with our DIY items, all these details were put together with love. Every corner I looked somehow spoke of our true personalities.

A little tip for all the bride-to-be: during prep period just try and do your best, keep the positive vibe running all the time, be grateful on every small achievement, and remain patient on every trials, in the end, you are marrying the love of your life and that’s what it should only be about.

Intimate York Wedding on Mount Brown Lookout

When planning my own wedding, the idea of a small, intimate affair sounded so romantic. Inviting your nearest and dearest makes for a truly personalized day. Just ask this couple who together with Flower Talk and James Schokman Photography celebrated their love on a mountaintop with thirty five of their loved ones. See it all here.

From the Bride… Jarrod and I chose to have a small, intimate wedding in the beautiful and quaint historic town of York, WA.

Early on, when we started planning our wedding, it became apparent to us both that we did not want our wedding to be a huge performance in front of hundreds of guests. Instead, we decided on a more natural approach and invited only our immediate families and a handful of our closest friends (35 guests in total). This allowed us to spend quality time with each and every one of our guests throughout our wedding day – and in particular, the guests who had travelled from over east and overseas.

Our ceremony took place on Mount Brown Lookout which is situated just 5 minutes from the York Townsite. The lookout has 360 degree views of the township of York and its surrounding countryside. Jarrod and I both have a love for Australian nature, landscapes and the outdoors so this was the perfect spot for us to get married and it was extra special because we were told that no one else had ever been married on the lookout before.

The reception venue we chose was called Laurelville Manor which is a stately, turn-of-the-century Edwardian two story homestead with beautiful wide verandahs. Laurelville also doubled up as the accommodation for the bridal party and immediate family for the entire weekend so we got to spend time with our special guests the day before and after our wedding which was an added bonus.

We loved our wedding weekend because it reflected our true values and outlook on life. It was personal, romantic, fun, spontaneous, relaxed, sentimental and just a tiny bit disorganized!
