Australian Wedding at the Boyd Baker House from It’s Beautiful Here

After spending some time pouring over this wedding captured by It’s Beautiful Here and the Bride’s sweet description below, I pretty much think I would get married at the Boyd Baker House if I had a destination wedding do-over (to the same hubby, of course). It looks like a dream venue – complete with kangaroos - and this adorable duo deserved nothing less. They planned a wedding where they could be surrounded by family and friends, and they got that, and so much more. See it all here.

From the Bride…The only pre-requisite to our wedding was that we were surrounded by family and friends and that it had a communal feel to it without being too formal or ruled by curfews by your traditional wedding venue. As we had family coming from France and New Zealand it was important to give them a truly ‘Australian’ experience and after visiting the Boyd Baker house – we knew this was the right place. How can you go past a place fully furnished with funky 60s furniture and kangaroos passing by early each morning? We also loved that the Boyd Baker was dog friendly so our little French Bulldog, Gypsie, and my parent’s dog were able to attend! It was also important that our nieces and nephews were there and they had a ball playing on the old style tram outside and big tree swing during the night.

We put the extra effort into making the day special by putting little projects together in the months leading up to the day – like designing the wedding invite, sewing the napkins for the dinner service, putting our wishing well, and guest books together, and bringing bottles of champagne home for the purposes of ‘taste testing.’ We were blessed to have our parents, maid of honour, and best woman support us all the way and be ready to tackle any problem on the day.

Our favourite moment of the wedding apart from the ceremony and the surprising speeches was actually having our friends and family camp onsite and wake up the next day worse for wear coming into the main kitchen in search of coffee and toast.

From Erin + Tara PhotographyA picturesque garden wedding surrounded by the Pyrenees Mountain Range, Jack + Kirby married on a beautiful Autumn day on the front manicured lawn of Jack’s parents farm,  just out of the small township of Avoca, Victoria. Kirby and her four bridesmaids hung out and prepared for the big day at the Avoca Hotel while Kirby’s close friend and hair stylist work his magic on all five girls. Kirby and her bridemaids wore Anna Campbell gowns ( Jack went to school with Anna Campbell himself ) and garlands made by Prunella. In the meantime Jack was busy with finishing touches such as hanging the ‘love’ swing he made Kirby the day prior while  florist/stylist’s Vanessa and Caris finished it off by decorating it with lights and a mix of roses. Kirby wanted lots and lots of flowers on her big day and hire the help of super stylist and florists Vanessa and Caris from Prunella to help her with her vision, even the family pups where wearing their own beautiful roses. Guests enjoyed canapes and acoustic tunes which Kirby and Jake where in a nearby paddock with Kirby’s beloved horse who she has had since the day she was born. The night continued with lots of great food including duck pie, ice-creams with an array of topping choices, dancing and then finishing the day with a show of magic fireworks.

Werribee Wedding from Louisa Bailey

This wedding is exactly what I need on a Tuesday morning. A pretty package of love and the happiest of smiles seen through the lens of Louisa Bailey. Complete with sweet kisses underneath the most stunning purple petaled tree I’ve ever seen. I’m pretty sure I’ll be in the gallery, wishing I was underneath that gorgeous tree all. day. long.

From Louisa Bailey…  Alice and Kien were married at the beautiful Werribee Mansion on the outskirts of Melbourne, Victoria. Alice is from Macau, so this wedding was to celebrate with their Australian friends before they jetted off to Macau for part 2!

I loved every minute of Alice and Kien’s special day – especially the surprise musical performance by Kien’s amazingly talented cousins – I shed a happy tear along with everyone else in the room!

From the Bride… It was pretty much a casual, intimate, stress free party, and Kien & I both agreed that it was honestly one of the best day of our lives (even we didn’t expect to feel that way before the wedding!)
