Now this is a bride and groom who really know how to throw a wedding. I’m talking a talented twosome who own their very own vineyard and a stunning bride who is a master at all things floral (aka, Buds And Blooms) coming together to throw a backyard shindig that is simply perfection. from Emma Sharkey Photography… Renae and Clint married in the middle of the Australian Summer surrounded by their family and friends.
The couple then took on planning and coordinating their ceremony and wedding, both being held at their private vineyard in McLaren Vale South Australia.
On the couple’s property is a small wetland area which formed a natural island type clearing. Clint and Renae had their ceremony on this little clearing under a huge old gum tree. Hay Bales dotted throughout the properties paddock mapped the way to the ceremony and additional bales draped with fabric formed the aisle structure and floral pomanders were used as decorations at each row. Clint and Renae stood under an arch which was decorated with vine and fresh flowers and from this, a chandelier was suspended. The couple were married by one of Clint’s aunts and they included a wine ceremony during the service and sipped wine made from the property they were married on.
The couple arrived in style with Clint making an entrance in a helicopter and Renae and her attendants being chauffeured to the ceremony in old classic cars that Clint’s grandfather had restored.
Renae, a Florist and co-owner of Buds and Blooms, there was an abundance of vibrant fresh beautiful blooms used throughout the day. They provided perfect pops of vibrant pink, yellows, apricot, peach and green colour against the dry countryside and really added a touch of glamour to the wedding.
A white pavilion span marquee was erected next to the properties name sake windmill (Windmill Creek Vineyard) and this site also holds significant meaning as this is where the couples new dream home is going to be built. Hay Bales were used to decorate the entrance of the marquee together with potted flowers and tall glass vases overflowing with fresh flowers formed the table centrepieces. Wine Barrels with floral arrangements were dotted around the edges of the pavilion and guests were given “spread the love” jars filled with jam. Corks were used as the perfect accompaniment for the place cards.
Delicious food was served by Todd Steel, Chef as the sun set on their magical day.
From the Bride… The proposal was three years ago on 25/12/11 Christmas day. We were down at the beach at Sellicks on the way to the folks for lunch, when Clint pulled over on the beach and wanted to take “Jess” Our dog for a swim, Clint told me that he was looking for a ball in the back of the ute for jess to play with. Next minute Jess came trotting up to me with a wooden red box attached to her collar with Clint following behind. She then sat down and Clint opened the box and proposed! After Clint proposed Jess (the dog) howled with joy after I said yes!”
Clint and I own 40 acres in between McLaren Vale and Willunga, it has vineyard, Old ruins, stables and windmills. The property was right in front of our eyes and basically we couldn’t have had our wedding day anywhere else as Clint is involved in the vineyard industry why have it at a winery when you have your own Vineyard and vacant land so readily available.
