From Bonfire Brand… Bonnie Brewster was living in Hong Kong when she met Luke Edwards, an Aussie. Two worlds collided and they fell in love.  Since Bonnie was now dating an “Edwards”, this vintage loving, opp-shopper started collecting old “Edwards” tins. Most of the treasures she found were Tea & Coffee tins, perfect for this caffeine-loving couple. Friends & family would often comment on the tins and it became a great talking point.  Three years later, these unique tins have now provided a great source of inspiration for Bonnie & Luke’s lovely day.   Bonnie created a NEW “Edwards” brand. Their wedding favors became Edwards Tea & Coffee. Inspired and created to represent the next generation of “Edwards” families.

A great story behind the new Edwards tins; the tins were actually a gift from an Aussie company called Massel Stock. The bride loved the shape and colour of their tins, so she sent them an email requesting to purchase some empty ones. Their reply was “we would love to help an Aussie bride and will give you the tins!” They produced special blank versions of their stock tins and also included a personalized stamp on the bottom!!! Such a beautiful gesture of kindness.

The wedding was also inspired by the couples love of travel.  This can be seen in the illustration created by Lauren Carney Art: The artwork incorporates two worlds colliding along with all the little details: Luke”s running shoes, Bonnie’s suitcase from her move back to Australia to be with Luke, their adventures through France and so much more. The couple wanted a relaxed and cozy feel for their intimate day: with feast-like tables, and minimal formalities, Spicers Clovelly was the perfect venue.

From Sarzy O PhotographyI have a love affair with beautiful wedding styles!  I had a vision of a beautiful soft mint green and emerald shabby chic French inspired wedding and wanted to show brides what some of Brisbane’s best vendors could do.  So it occurred to me that the amazing Begitta fashion designer was working on a new range of wedding dresses and they would be coming out this year —  be a perfect time to get together. Begitta’s style is dreamy, romantic and almost other worldly — perfect for what I had in mind!

I had worked with some amazingly talented people within the industry and thought we could combine Begitta’s work with some of them. So I got to putting a team together. The ladies’ attire, wedding gown, bridesmaids dress and headpieces were all created by Begitta! Then the Wil Valor suite tied the entire look together.

Jo (Celebration Design Studio) and Kelly (Bella Bloom Floral Design) collaborated on the styling of the setting of the wedding, as well as their individual areas of stationery and florals. From dining tables to drinks they ensured the setting was as pretty as a picture. Sherie (The Flour Girl) decided on a soft mint to tie in beautifully with the chosen colour palette. wanted to add subtle gold and bronze tones to the cake to add a touch of decadence whilst keeping overall style very feminine and pretty. Kylie from Kylie’s Professional is an amazing talent, and dedicated to making brides look the best on their day. She and her team created the perfect look for our bride and her girls with both hair and makeup.

Sunshine Coast Wedding from Andrea Sproxton Photography

This is the kind of wedding that just radiates love.  Like an all-encompassing, happiness-filled love that grabs at each and every one of your heart strings.  And since we kind of enjoy basking in l.o.v.e. here at SMP, spending our day soaking it all in was an absolute given.  Especially since the wonderful Andrea Sproxton happened to be on hand to snap up every moment, including the picturesque ceremony at Point Cartwright and the beautiful bride walking down the aisle in her mother’s dress.  See it all right here.

From Andrea Sproxton PhotographyHayley-Brea & Kevin were married at Point Cartwright on the Sunshine Coast.  Hayley-Brea wore her mothers wedding dress, with just a couple of minor alterations. Their wedding was relaxed and fun!  During the ceremony, the parents of the bride and groom added their wedding rings to Hayley-Brea & Kevin’s, and they were all passed around the guests for well-wishes. When it came time to exchange rings, the wrong ring was given to Hayley-Brea and only discovered when it didn’t go on Kevin’s finger – causing much laughter among everyone.  They travelled on a ferry across to Mooloolaba where their reception was being held.
