From Terrianne Foale… We take the opportunity to meet with our brides to gather all of the styling information that proves to be integral when designing a bespoke wedding bouquet. We love hearing their stories, the most divine part of my job is that every bride has a different vision and a unique focus in regards to their floral designs. In terms of creating a wedding bouquet for our clients we always take into consideration many aspects of the day, gowns, location, venue and concept however the colour palette featured in various areas of the wedding, whether it may be a pair of shoes, a savvy pop of colour on the lips or the cushions that are featured amongst lounge furniture, are also elements that present opportunities for colours to be accented with flowers.

Of course not every bride wants colour or vivid vibrancy, but I was ecstatic when I met with the gorgeous Marie, she had a love for colour and requested specific rich tones to be translated through her florals.

We decided to summarize Marie’s floral concept as ‘gardenesque boho’ and the vivid rich and luxurious florals accented a jewel inspired colour palette that showcased, crimson, plum, ruby, topaz, magenta, sapphire, coral and raspberry tones. I created Marie’s bouquet with a variety of beautiful blooms, and the design featured an eclectic selection of varying textural foliage’s and cascading greenery.

Ballerina Autumn Styled Inspiration Shoot

This is what happens when a group of ultra-talented vendors come together for a day of non-stop beauty and inspiration at Spicers Clovelly Estate: a rich, autumn-inspired color palette, exquisite styling and details from Lovebird Weddings and crazy abundant blooms crafted brilliantly by Mondo Floral Designs. It’s Sleeping Beauty meets Swan Lake, all wrapped up in stunning images from Studio Impression Photography.  Get lost in the pretty here, then stay tuned for a lovely film from Lester and May.

From Studio Impressions… A base palette of delicate whites, soft dusty pinks and hint of creamy peach, to which we have added rose, blush, boysenberries, cherry and maroon… complimented by pops of mauve, plum and deep bold purples! Elegantly teamed with sage and lime foliage, dark oak browns, bronze and tarnished rich golds.

Our styled shoot begins at Spicers Clovelly Estate, the ultimate in relaxed luxury accommodation, and also one of the Sunshine Coast’s most prestigious wedding venues.

The shoot was conceived by Lovebird Weddings who created the colour palette and design, and engaged all the suppliers. Lovebird Weddings is a wedding planning and styling agency.

Mondo Floral Designs created the incredible floral designs, cascading staircase design, piano design, bouquets and the florals used throughout the table scape.

From Terrianne At Mondo Floral Designs… The inspiration for our floral concept focussed on luxurious blooms with decadent textures, rich colours and a concept of perfumed florals opulent in design. We created two bouquets, both whimsical and dreamy in design style featuring a colour palette of ruby red, raspberry, lavender, pink, peach, butter and plum. Our selected blooms included David Austin roses, Columbian roses, tulips, lisianthus, hydrangea, cluster roses, stock, berries, and whimsical foliage’s. The cascading ribbons featured on each of the bouquets were chosen to accentuate the flow and fall of the movement for the shoot, enhancing the ballerina’s story, and trailing gracefully to the ground.

The reception featured a decadent and extravagant display of blooms, and our collection of antique brass and crystal vases were the perfect choice to fill with beautiful florals and feature foliage’s. The piano lingered gracefully in the background and featured plentiful petals as we massed beautiful blooms over the keyboards embracing the romance of the story. The ceremony featured a simple greenery garland on the ethereal backdrop cascading from the canopy, and garden-esque greenery aisle chair posies were attached to each Bentwood chair.

From Lovebird Weddings… We hired an ex Queensland Ballet dancer to further enrich our Sleeping Beauty inspired design.

We began with a boudoir shoot which included lingerie by Calvin Klein and layers of tulle skirting by Erin Clare Couture.

The dinner party design was shot in the Spicers Clovelly Library where we converted the library shelves into a decadent Brandy & Sweet bar, with sweets supplied by Cake Designs to include copper iced macaroons, chocolate brownies, mini lemon meringues and raspberry fruit baskets.

The table scape featured a number of unique pieces, including telegrams found at an antique store from a wedding in the same area some 80 years ago. Old oil burners and decanters sat in between the floral designs and berry taper candles. Lovebird Weddings created the table runner from vintage books which were edge-pressed to create a unique border, a process that took many hours to complete, but, yes, it is these little handmade details that really make such a difference. The simple table settings included Lovebird Weddings vintage silver cutlery tied with deep burgundy velvet ribbon.

The bouquets were oversized and decadent, with flowing ribbons to imitate the ribbons from ballet shoes.

The ceremony altar design included a burgundy backdrop, hand-painted by Lovebird Weddings in gold with a favourite quote from Sleeping Beauty “I know you, I walked with you, Once upon a Dream”. The autumn leaves provided rich tones of red and orange which created a magic carpet of colour though the ceremony design, allowing simple French wooden bistro chairs to line the aisle.

A French styled lounge area bathed in the dappled sunlight, while opposite, a deep pink velvet chesterfield provided a place to rest under the hanging seating plan design.

Towards dusk, pretty lace curtains provided the backdrop for leaps and bounds, boldly captured on camera and film…

Romantic Queensland Estate Wedding

With adorable touches like the reception tables named for the Groom’s nicknames for his beautiful Bride, the gorgeous twinkling clear reception tent, and glam elements like the Bride’s sequined Karen Willis Holmes dress, this romantic estate wedding is pretty much my ultimate dream. I can’t get enough of every Lucas and Co.-captured dreamy detail in the gallery here, and neither will you!

From Karen Willis HolmesDespite starting her day with a long run with her bridesmaids, Amy partied on till after 3am on the night of her wedding.

The day was all about family—Amy and Josh’s own, and the new one they were creating together. held at Josh’s family property, the day was filled with special custom touches like tables named after Josh’s nicknames for Amy, and the MC, who prepared a race call as part of his speech where all the horses’ names made reference to events in Josh and Amy’s relationship.

And while the day—and the ceremony in particular was emotional, Amy didn’t cry, because she was too happy and excited, of course!

Whimsical Pastel Queensland Wedding

With a fabulously fresh mint color palette and whimsical details abound, this pretty pastel wedding capture by Matt Rowe Photography is overflowing with sweet little moments that will surely inspire. Every image is a true testament of this couples love for each other, and you can get wrapped up in all the sweetness here.

From Matt Rowe PhotographyWe just knew there was something special about these two. Such elegance and fun wrapped up into a moment in time resounds very clearly and their wedding will remain a favourite of ours. From the real tears of the ‘first look’ between Elissa and her Dad, the genuine and beautiful vows to the hilarity and fun of their chosen besties (bridal party) we had a ball. We’d like to thank Mark for allowing us to shove a pug in front of his face and call it art. Seriously though, those moments in between – when the bridal gown is on, when the groom waits for his bride and when she is ready to walk down the aisle and the anticipation and sincerity become near tangible – these create the foundations of the wedding day that, for us, define each couple.

From the Bride… We met in high school at Brisbane State High (we were in the same Grade 9 form class) and started dating in grade 11. We were best friends before we got together, and that friendship has been at the core of our relationship all the way through; we genuinely love each other’s company and make a great team. There’s not a lot that we don’t know about each other, having been together since our teens we’ve experienced so many things together, grown up together, gone through highs and lows of life together and love each other more than words can say.

He proposed the night of our farewell party, before we left for 18 months in Europe and the UK. We went for a low key dinner date beforehand in Brisbane’s Southbank and then went for a walk. When we reached the spot where Mark had asked me to be his girlfriend 9 years earlier, he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife

We loved the way Matt captures couples and the scenery in a magical and artistic way; his images stood out clearly from every other photographer we looked at. We were so thrilled with our shots and everyone has commented that they can feel the love between us.
