Quick Tip: The Faux Glow, Perfected

QuickTip_swash

Even if you consider yourself to be a self-tanning aficionado, doing a trial run at least a week in advance of your Big Day is an absolute must. Before the main event, make sure your entire body has been thoroughly exfoliated, and that any necessary hair removal has taken place at least 12 hours prior, before applying self-tanner, and you’re practically guaranteed a gorgeous, even glow!

From Karen Willis HolmesDespite starting her day with a long run with her bridesmaids, Amy partied on till after 3am on the night of her wedding.

The day was all about family—Amy and Josh’s own, and the new one they were creating together. held at Josh’s family property, the day was filled with special custom touches like tables named after Josh’s nicknames for Amy, and the MC, who prepared a race call as part of his speech where all the horses’ names made reference to events in Josh and Amy’s relationship.

And while the day—and the ceremony in particular was emotional, Amy didn’t cry, because she was too happy and excited, of course!

From Matt Rowe PhotographyWe just knew there was something special about these two. Such elegance and fun wrapped up into a moment in time resounds very clearly and their wedding will remain a favourite of ours. From the real tears of the ‘first look’ between Elissa and her Dad, the genuine and beautiful vows to the hilarity and fun of their chosen besties (bridal party) we had a ball. We’d like to thank Mark for allowing us to shove a pug in front of his face and call it art. Seriously though, those moments in between – when the bridal gown is on, when the groom waits for his bride and when she is ready to walk down the aisle and the anticipation and sincerity become near tangible – these create the foundations of the wedding day that, for us, define each couple.

From the Bride… We met in high school at Brisbane State High (we were in the same Grade 9 form class) and started dating in grade 11. We were best friends before we got together, and that friendship has been at the core of our relationship all the way through; we genuinely love each other’s company and make a great team. There’s not a lot that we don’t know about each other, having been together since our teens we’ve experienced so many things together, grown up together, gone through highs and lows of life together and love each other more than words can say.

He proposed the night of our farewell party, before we left for 18 months in Europe and the UK. We went for a low key dinner date beforehand in Brisbane’s Southbank and then went for a walk. When we reached the spot where Mark had asked me to be his girlfriend 9 years earlier, he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife

We loved the way Matt captures couples and the scenery in a magical and artistic way; his images stood out clearly from every other photographer we looked at. We were so thrilled with our shots and everyone has commented that they can feel the love between us.

Rustic & Elegant Australian Wedding

When you have a beautiful backdrop like Flaxton Gardens in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland it’s impossible not to embrace its beauty as a part of your special day. This couple did just that with a rustic style wedding which included simple 3-tiered cake wrapped in burlap & wildflower centerpiece. From Jennifer OliphantEmily and Daniel’s elegant and rustic wedding was held at the beautiful Flaxton Gardens in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland on a rainy day. The stunning Sunshine Coast Hinterland was a top priority for Emily and Daniel when choosing a location for their wedding. The gorgeous scenery there makes for a truly beautiful backdrop, not only for a wedding but for the location photography as well.

The bride and groom met at a very young age but did not start dating until after high school. After six years together Daniel proposed at the top of Mount Edward, somewhere that was very special to them since they went there on one of their first dates. This January will mark eight years together for this gorgeous couple.

Emily and Daniel’s reception in the Barrel Room at Flaxton Gardens was peppered with lots of lovingly created DIY bits and pieces. Daniel made the vases that held the flowers for the name place cards, his mother made the lovely table runners that covered the tables, and Emily crafted the beautiful place cards and thank you notes with the help of Daniel’s cousin and the lace and twine candle holders with her friends. These tiny details really made the reception unique and looked just gorgeous.

There was so much fun and laughter throughout the day; the bond between the bridal party and Emily and Daniel was evident and helped make the day truly special for them. The staff at Flaxton Gardens did an amazing job for their wedding, ensuring the day was relaxed and stress free, which I know was an important element for Emily and Daniel.

From Calli B Photography… Rachel and Warwick’s love story was a long time in the making. After meeting at high school they lost touch for five years, but the couple reconnected at the age of 21 and have been together ever since. Rural Queensland’s unspoiled beauty perfectly matched their desire for a rustic themed wedding, and they chose to get married at Kenilworth Homestead, located in the Mary Valley region of the Sunshine Coast. Knowing exactly how she wanted her special day to look, Rachel opted for rustic styling elements and a stunning floral design created by local Sunshine Coast florist, Willow Bud. Beautiful glass bubbles filled with candles and lush flowers were hung from the roof of the homestead, while vintage furniture laden with bonbonniere complemented the venue’s rustic feel. Kenilworth Homestead’s huge jacaranda tree provided an ideal ceremony location, and Rachel and Warwick said their vows beneath a riot of purple flowers, surrounded by family and friends. “Walking down the aisle and seeing Warwick tear up and listening to our vows…these memories will be clear in my mind for the rest of my life,” said Rachel. “The whole day was perfect. I married my best friend and not one thing went wrong.” While the couple had their official photos taken in the property’s picturesque surroundings, guests entertained themselves with outdoor games and snacked on the delicious assortment of candy. The reception’s table setting featured soft white linen, swatches of lace and vases filled with delicate blooms. A single-tier white wedding cake finished off the look seamlessly. Just when Rachel and Warwick thought they couldn’t get any happier, prior to jetting off on their Hawaiian honeymoon, the couple found out they were expecting twins.
