You know what I love about high school sweeties tying the knot? They are just so darn cute. The kind of cute that comes with growing up together, and celebrating that years-long commitment in a fab shindig with all of your friends and family. Case in point? This adorable duo, who, with the help of Planned For Perfection, threw one crazy gorgeous party. See it all captured by Rachael Muller in the full gallery.
From Planned For Perfection… Childhood sweethearts Susie and Jonno’s wedding was always going to be a wonderful day full of love and laughter – a long awaited celebration with their family and friends from church, high school and university, all of whom were so excited to see their relationship flourish from a high school romance to Mr. and Mrs. over the last seven years.
Susie and her bridesmaids left from Susannah’s mothers house in Five Dock, with the girls watching the brides favourite childhood movie, Disney’s Aladdin, taking it in turns to have their hair and makeup done, whilst Jonno and his groomsmen got ready at the family home in Gordon.
The wedding ceremony took place at St. Matthews Anglican Church in West Pymble, where the couple had met years earlier and had worshipped for many years. An afternoon tea in the church rooms followed the service, before the bridal party drove to Lane Cove National Park for some fun photographs.
The couple chose the trendy Sydney dance lounge, a rustic harbour side location in Walsh Bay for their wedding reception, arriving in style in Susie’s father’s Cobra with the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge the perfect backdrop for some beautiful wedding photographs. They loved its location right in the heart of Sydney, with its cosy, cool and relaxed atmosphere being perfect for their cocktail-style reception, enabling them to mingle with everyone they loved!
There was a constant flow of chilled Champagne and wine from Susannah’s father’s Hunter Valley Vineyard, a choice of trendy cocktails as well as a selection of delicious finger food, served in bento boxes and on slate platters, including Fresh king prawns served with a dill and lime aioli, Rice paper rolls with Asian greens and sweet chilli dipping sauce, soy and wasabi, Salt and pepper squid with lemon and aioli, Lamb skewers with tahini and yoghurt dressing, Vietnamese rare beef salad with crisp Asian vegetables with sweet chilli and lime dressing, Pad Thai noodle with chicken, rice noodles, Asian greens and coriander.
The bridal party climbed the staircase in the middle of the old warehouse, giving speeches to the guests below and where Susie threw her bouquet to the single ladies below. Cutting of the wedding cake and first dance were followed by a night of partying before the guests lined up to make a sparkler arch which the happy couple ran through en-route to the Five star Pier One hotel in Central Sydney before jetting off to an idyllic two weeks on a pacific island.
