Pink peonies make my heart happy – period. They’re the prettiest wedding bloom on the block and lucky for me, this Maleny Manor wedding is chock-full of ’em. CL Weddings And Events and Mondo Floral Designs are to thank for the stunning design and florals, and our girl Calli B was on hand to capture. Pinky promise you’ll spend a little time in the full gallery on this one, won’t you? It’s so, so good.
From the Bride… I’m one of those girls who had always dreamed of my big day since i was little, and on Friday 22nd November 2013 all of those dreams became a reality.
Josh proposed to me on Christmas morning of 2012 in our living room. I was absolutely ecstatic and started planning straight away. I’d always known I wanted to get married in Spring, in Maleny and that I wanted peonies. We went to a wedding expo in Maleny in January and both fell in love with Maleny Manor. There’s something special about that place.
After 5 years together and 11 months of being engaged, we tied the knot at Maleny Manor – it was above and beyond our expectations, an absolutely magical day!
Set on the mountain tops of Maleny, overlooking the beautiful Sunshine Coast, our special day was very whimsical and romantic with a colour scheme of soft pinks & greys, dripping with baby’s breath and furnished with vintage french inspired furniture.
I was so calm and composed right up until it was time to walk down the aisle, and as soon as I saw Josh I started to tear up. I walked down the aisle with my dad to ‘Feels like home’ by Chantal Kreviazuk. Once I was standing up there, holding hands with Josh, all the nerves went away and for the first time in my life, I knew I was exactly where I needed to be.
We had a beautiful barn owl, named China, fly in with our rings, which was a great suprise element for our guests!
Our reception was really fun and spent most of the night in our photo booth and on the dance floor with our friends. At the end of the night, everyone formed an archway, leading us upstairs, where we waited on the balcony to wave goodbye as everyone left.
We spent the next morning with close friends and family, recapping on how amazing the day was, and getting ready to jet off for Phuket, Thailand. Our day could not have gone any better, if only we could do it all again – in slow motion!
From Mondo Floral Designs… Danielle’s floral concept consisted of an elegant mix of blooms that blended perfectly with rustic styling and had a sweet country feel, the wedding bouquet was a hand held posy bouquet that featured pale pink peony roses and white peony roses, it also showcased a touch of baby’s breath and dusty miller.
The bridesmaids designs featured all baby’s breath bouquets with a small touch of dusty miller, to accent the country styling the stems were finished in natural hessian and twine ties. Danielle’s younger sister wore a sweet baby’s breath garland that we created to make her feel very special at her sister’s wedding.
The ceremony featured hanging medium style French jars of baby’s breath which were placed on the aisle chairs in the pavilion. We also created a floral suspended structure that hung beautifully at the end of the pavilion and created a floral feature for the backdrop of the ceremony. The reception featured tall scallop vases of baby’s breath and a touch of willow was included to continue the country rustic styling accent of the day.
