I just love when we get a wedding where I can take one look at the lovebirds and instantly think, we could TOTALLY be best friends. The lovely touch of retro and the laid back reception (including more than a few fun games of table tennis) all at A & I Hall in Bangalow really make us true kindred spirits. This bride especially made the day her own by the exquisite DIY-ed lace flags, baking the cake all on her own AND setting each table to impeccable perfection. The gorgeous images from Kirra Cheers are sure to blow you away and there are plenty more in our gallery, right here.
From Kirra Cheers… Julia was the ultimate bride. She did absolutely everything herself. At 7 p.m. the night before the wedding, Julia was still at the reception venue putting the final touches on the table settings. A little bird told me that her mother spent seven hours straight sewing the lace flags that hung so elegantly at the reception. Julia even got up early on her wedding day to finish the wedding cake that, yes, she made all by herself. The wedding was held in the A&I hall in Bangalow, NSW, a boutique town nestled in the Byron Bay hinterland. For the photo tour, we went for a stroll down the train line next to the hall as the sun set behind the hills. I photographed in mainly a candid style to capture the relationships and love. Everyone had a great time, but I think the table tennis table was a particularly big hit. The details I particularly loved were the lace flags, the candy striped straws, the tea table and the rustic napkins. Julia had her dress made and went with a 1950′s style that highlighted her old world beauty. The styling was inspired but best of all it was personal. A beautiful day for a beautiful couple.
