We’re loving the feel of this elegant, yet laid back affair. The bride’s dress is absolutely gorgeous with it’s long slit and beautiful draping and we seriously can’t get enough of the gorgeous blooms that seem to be popping up everywhere! Milk & Honey Photography captured each and every meaningful moment and you can see each and every one right here in the full gallery!

From the Bride… The ceremony was Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church at Watsons Bay and the reception was at QVB Tea Room in Sydney. Our Lady Star of the Sea is an intimate and beautiful church that we have always loved. It has a magnificent sandstone facade, timber cathedral ceilings and lead light windows. The fact that it is located next to the most beautiful harbour in the world made it even more special. The QVB Tea Room was an easy choice for us. It’s such an atypical venue, and when we first walked in we knew we had found the right place. The Tea Room is an elegant venue in such an iconic and historic Sydney building which will always be there for us to visit and bring our children and reminisce about our special day.

I walked down the aisle to “Hoppipolla” by Sigur Ros — an Icelandic song. It’s a carefree song, full of energy and symbolising living in the moment. Our first dance was “Here Comes Your Man” originally by Meagan Smith. It was sung by The White Tree on the night of the wedding. It’s a quirky, fun sort of song that we could just dance and be ourselves to. We DIYed everything we could — invitations, church booklets, menu cards, bomboneries. I added my own personal touch to the whole day, which made it so satisfying.

One of the special parts of the day was specifically requesting that our bridal party as well as their partners sit on the bridal table with us. It was great that our bridesmaids and groomsmen were able to not only spend the night with us but also with their loved ones too. All of our bridal party commented on what a nice touch it was! It was also great that we could add our special touch to certain things. We didn’t have a theme as such but had some love birds on the cake and on the invitations and menu card. We also had a lovely birdcage as part of the wishing well. It felt like it all tied up well together. Our favourite special detail of our wedding was that instead of a guest book, we had a couple of Polaroid cameras, and guests could take photos of themselves and leave us a bit of a memento on a pinboard frame. We have now framed the little {Polaroid pictures as a collage and have it hanging up at home. It will always remind us of our beautiful family and friends that were there. As cliché as it may sound the whole day was a story in itself. It was truly the best day of our lives. Milk and Honey did an amazing job in capturing every precious moment. We are grateful that we have all our photos as each photo has a small story to tell.
