This couple, I love. Their wedding by James Field? I LOVE. Casual chic with loads of personality, you know this wedding was just completely fabulous to attend, and one that their friends and family still talk about to this day. From the Bride…A relaxed vibe, many handmade touches and input from our friends and family helped make our wedding feel like a true reflection of us as a couple. Adam and I are pretty casual people – and not particularly romantic in a showy way either. We knew that in order to feel comfortable and enjoy the day, our wedding had to feel like a party and not too wedding-y.
Beautiful Glen Ewin Estate in the Adelaide Hills provided a perfect backdrop for our outdoor ceremony, followed by drinks and canapes with a garden party vibe. The venue’s rustic 100 year old “Pulp Shed” (previously a jam factory) housed the banquet-style dinner and dancing that came later. The venue helped influence the rustic styled event, with local Adelaide Hills wildflowers used in the bouquets; and jam being used for the favours – as a tribute to the venue’s heritage. The ceremony was sincere (but still relaxed) and included some of our loved ones: our niece and nephew read from the 1960′s children’s book “I like You”. And our two grandmother’s (and last remaining grandparents) served as our witnesses, which was really special. We wrote our own vows, and among other things, we promised to “create a home filled with music, good food, and laughter” and to “share adventures in love and life”.
While the vibe was relaxed, the planning was anything but. As a couple we worked hard to inject ourselves into our wedding. We trawled markets and antique stores to collect hundreds of vintage vases and bottles to put flowers in. We hand-cut wood to use as centre-pieces. We made directional signs which we placed along the way to the venue. We found and painted some antique side-tables which helped frame our ceremony location. Adam’s mum dried loads of rose petals which became our ‘confetti’, which we put into Kraft bags and stamped with the same motif that appeared on our invitations. We made a DIY photobooth, with props that provided so much entertainment for our guests and awesome photos. I really embraced wedding planning and found that it was a chance to get back in touch with my creative side. I loved every minute.We could not have asked for a better day. Putting in some extra effort when planning, and considering how we could include our family and friends in the day really helped make the day feel real and special.

I'm pretty sure this bride gave her bridesmaids the fabric and said do what you like and they all took them to different dressmakers to have them made.
Their wedding was so lovely! Even the musicians were wearing suspenders and golf caps. Such a pleasure to style!

For all who have asked about the bridesmaid dresses, Marissa is correct. I bought fabric and gave it to each of the girls. 1 was made in Melbourne, 1 in QLD, 1 in Thailand, and the other in Adelaide! Sorry if that doesn't help much. Let me know if you have more questions.
