This breathtaking Sydney celebration by Lachlan Burrell is the perfect fusion of elegance and creativity. It is modern and unique yet simple and graceful at the same time. Of course, the sweet, giddy, grinning couple is my favorite part of the whole occasion but coming up close behind in the race for my heart is definitely that fun bouquet and that gorgeous dress! From the Bride…I wonder if all brides and grooms say that they had the perfect wedding? Or if there is always a horror story hidden in denial… For us, it was flawless and effortless! Don’t get me wrong there was effort up front, but it was a process we both enjoyed creating together. Paul and I met three years ago in Sydney and with our families living in separate corners of the world we wanted everyone to come to the wedding and experience Sydney at the same time.
We chose Gunner Barracks’ Tea Rooms in Mosman because, for us, it had everything; beautiful views of Sydney’s harbour, exclusive use, attentive staff, amazing food and elegant decor from the antique wallpaper to the chandeliers. It suited us perfectly. We wanted a small, intimate and simple wedding with no bridal party, just our young nieces as flower girls. We were so lucky to have a florist in the family who added such flair and individuality to our flowers. Kerry created a striking bouquet and worked with the idea of freshly picked flowers from your Gran’s back garden’ for the tables.
I loved our wedding, and receiving Lachlan’s photographs was like we were there all over again. Having great photographs was essential, being a photographer myself I wanted complete trust and the ability to just let them be creative, and Lachlan was brilliant!
