Here is a look back at some of my favorite posts...
The Latin Affair inspiration board that we did for reader, Marisa, holds the title as my all time favorite board. I love the vibrant colors and textures. The best celebration is the kind where family and friends can come together and celebrate the uniqueness of their culture and the passion of the couple. This board just screams excitement to me.
The Domino Magazine inspired wedding was the most difficult post that I have done to date. Getting the colors and the textures just right proved to be much harder than even I anticipated. This post took a total of about eight hours to complete...only because I am a crazy perfectionist and I had to get each hue, each element exactly so as to convey that playful elegance that the room required.
The Green Wedding that we did was, in a word...inspiring. My husband and I, after living in San Francisco for five years, have become accustomed to doing small things that have a big impact on our environment. And although there are few people who either could, or want to, pull off a fully green wedding, this post proved that there are so many small ways to be eco-chic.
Who can resist a great post about cakes. When I stumbled upon the Vanilla Bakeshop in Los Angeles, I had the post written and up on the site in about five seconds flat. I love how chic these cakes are...so stylish, and yet so understated. None of the fussiness that wedding cakes often have. With that said, I will never give up my love affair with April Reed or The Cake Girls, but I was delighted none the less, to find a great new bakery with their own unique spin on the wedding cake.
The work done by Lisa Vorce at Oh How Charming is incredible. Her details are over-the-top gorgeous and I was thrilled when she sent us a bunch of photos from some of her recent weddings. She has a level of taste that exceeds most other designers out there, but more importantly, she edits her work in such a way that the entire affair has a cohesiveness and a sense of personality. And lucky for us, I have asked Lisa to contribute to our Wedding Guide in the coming weeks...so stay tuned!
These are my current top five...but, the great thing about having your own blog, is that your favorites are constantly changing as you stumble upon great new stationery designers, bakers, planners and innovators. Check back often as I will always make sure you are up-to-date on all of SMP's greatest finds.
