I have such a soft spot in my heart for military weddings, and it goes far beyond the handsome uniforms and traditions. What really gets me is the couple. You can tell they have already been through so much, and they wouldn't want to do it with anyone else in the world. How could you not love that? And when such a wedding plays out through Joy Michelle Photography's images, I couldn't be happier.

From Joy Michelle Photography...Stephanie and Daniel tied the knot at the USNA Chapel on a sunny day in June and held their reception at the Alumni Hall (in the Bo Coppedge Room) offering sweeping views of College Creek and the Severn River.

They incorporated nautical elements into their decor including stripes, rope knots for their centerpieces and beautifully done calligraphy seating charts/tags. There were so many beautiful little signs, details, and decor elements throughout the whole wedding but one that stood out to me was the memory display to their friends who could not attend and were deployed overseas. They marked each name with a beer.

Can we just pause and take a moment to appreciate Stephanie’s all blush peony bouquet wrapped in blue and navy stripes?! Talk about romantic elegance!

Something old: Lace from bride's grandmothers wedding gown wrapped around the bride's bouquet.
Something new: South sea golden pearl earrings. A gift from the groom on his first deployment.
Something borrowed: Anchor pin. borrowed from Mrs. Lauren Cline (pinned to the bouquet).
Something blue: Bride's shoes. A gift from the groom. (Designed by Badgley Mischka).

I'm a hybrid wedding photographer and this wedding was photographed with a mix of film and digital photography.
