There’s nothing like an English garden wedding to make me dream of picking up and moving across the pond. Complete with a charming village backdrop and traditional horse drawn carriage, it’s “classic” to a T, all planned in the hands of the talented Jessie Thomson. Start your weekend off right in the gallery from Ashlee Taylor, and don’t miss the adorable super 8 from Hugh Farrow Films.

From Jessie Thomson Wedding PlanningThis is a beautiful country marquee wedding in the Cotswolds, for which I did full planning, design and styling with my fabulous team of suppliers! The ceremony was held in a gorgeous church just a short walk from the bride’s family home where they had a marquee reception in the absolutely stunning garden (guests walked from the church and entered over the sweetest bridge across a river, to be met with vintage champagne saucers of pink bubbly).

When I met the couple to discuss ideas for the wedding design, it was clear that I needed to reflect the bride’s more glam and chic personality and love of luxe, just as much as the outdoorsy fun loving nature of her hubby to be. Which is how we arrived at a classic white wedding with hits of soft pinks, lots of foliage to bring the outside in, and a touch of gold & sparkle. We also added little personal touches wherever possible, a jenga guest book, recipe cards for guests to fill in, literature inspired love quotes…it’s all in the details.

The images are by super talented fine art film photographer Ashlee Taylor, who made sure the couple were relaxed throughout. This is a traditional English country wedding that shows “classic” doesn’t have to mean boring or old-fashioned. It can be really beautiful too!
