Glamorous Austin Spring Wedding
This wedding, held at the Austin Museum of Art Laguna Gloria, was full of blush, gold and gray decor and florals, and an outdoor ceremony with church pews.
Let me introduce you to one super talented bride. This lovely lady had a distinct vision for her special day, and with the help of Pearl Events and Stems Floral Design, created an absolute masterpiece. I'm swooning over every detail captured by SMS Photography and just poured myself a second cup of coffee to accompany the next few hours I'll be spending in this gorgeous gallery.

From The Bride... Although Derek and I are native Houstonians, we always knew we wanted our day to be in Austin, Texas. Over the past six years, we fell in love with Lake Austin, the culture of the city and everything it had to offer. Our fondest memories together are of us spending all of our summers traveling to Austin and escaping to the lake with family and friends. Our vision for our wedding was to have an intimate and romantic outdoor ceremony nestled on the shores of Lake Austin. We incorporated elegant chandeliers, soft fabrics, and romantic florals with a classic touch of vintage pieces to help tell our story.

Our day had a vintage glam theme with colors of blush, ivory, gold metallics, and a hint of dusty gray. A project that was very special to us was including old black & white wedding photographs from both of our families that lined the mantle. It was also a way to include our loved ones who are no longer with us. We also loved incorporating the church pews into our outdoor reception!

The biggest challenge was defining separate spaces at the event space. We used the space for the ceremony and reception, so working out the details to keep the two spaces separate but still cohesive proved to be the most challenging. Luckily, we had nothing to worry about thanks to the creative ideas and combined effort from all of our vendors!

My favorite moment was approaching the top of the stairway, arm and arm with my Dad, catching a glimpse of our closest family and friends making their way down the aisle, and hearing the beautiful strings of the trio playing – it really put me in the most surreal moment of my life. Everything finally stopped moving and I thought, “This is it."

On our wedding day, we were overwhelmed by the love and excitement from all of our family and friends. We wanted our day to be as much for them as it was for us. My advice to newly engaged brides would be to make your day a reflection of you and your fiancé - don’t be afraid to put your own spin on things and just own it!
