From Julie Cate... When the weather warmed in Colorado the light became warm and soft and it was a lovely time to pull together a simple and romantic shoot. The location was a historic neoclassical mansion in downtown Denver called the Grant-Humphreys. The mansion is popular for weddings and events and the exterior has grand pillars and winding steps.

My amazing bride, Emily, who also works as a flower designer for The Perfect Petal, created a simple bouquet that popped against the soft background. The bouquet consisted of burgundy dahlias, ranunculus, anemone, darcey garden roses, andromeda and bits of wax flower. The dress was a backless dream gown from Katie May. The simplistic silhouette was just perfect and the bare back with tastefully romantic. I had Emily do her own hair and throw it up as she would on a normal day. But we did add a little bit of fancy with a crystal hairpiece from Untamed Petals.

Emily's Groom, Joe, looked handsome as well in a dark grey suit and matching boutonniere. We spent a early evening walking around in the spring breeze and loving the warm light. A simple romantic wedding like this would have dinner under the pergola. Simple linen table clothes and napkins tied with strands of eucalyptus. A small wine decanter for every guest is a gift that can be used during dinner and then taken home. The perfect setting for a simple romantic evening for close friends and family.
