Have I told you how much I adore Michael & Anna Costa lately? I think I can speak for the entire SMP office when I say that any package they send to our virtual mailbox is greeted with smiles and squeals, especially when it involves the darling Brooke Avishay. And this lovely Villa Mara wedding snapped up by Anna in Malibu is no exception to our excitement. A strikingly classy Bride & Groom surrounded by touches of romance in the sweet California air… does it get any better? See it all here.

From the handsome Groom… When you know the woman you are going to marry, you wake up and go to bed thinking about her and only her. This is the same visceral feeling I used when selecting the venue for our wedding. We traveled from New York City and scouted 11 different venues and after viewing all the locations, nothing spoke to me. My wife took a second visit to California and she Face-Timed me into her tour of Villa Mara in Malibu, California. Once I saw the grand entrance, I already knew this was the spot I was going to marry Maria. I am careful to write “woman of my dreams” because my dreams could not dream up someone as poised and attractive as Maria. Like I said in our vows, Maria is the perfect blend of east coast and west coast.

I was very humbled to see the amount of friends and family that traveled from near and far to see us tie the knot in Malibu. We had a longtime college friend of mine marry us in front of 70 witnesses with the Pacific Ocean and palm trees as our backdrop. Our guests ate on reclaimed wood tables decked out with an endless assortment of succulents, dinner was served by Tender Green’s, a farm to table food caterer, and then we danced the night away under twinkling market lights with our MC Ian from Red Shoe LA. To help grease the wheels, we served a full bar and also served signature bride and groom cocktails that had those really cool swirly paper straws that are always on Pinterest. Lastly for dessert, we had a tiny cake for us to cut and we thought it would be fun to serve an assortment of small bites which included of cupcakes, chocolate caramel squares topped with sea salt and of course wedding cake. Because we did not want the party to end, we hosted an after party at the Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica, where we enjoyed libations and late night snacks.

It takes a village to plan a wedding from over 3000 miles away and we cannot thank our friends, family, and wedding team enough for everything they did to make our day special.
