Classic meets romantic is one of my favorite combinations, especially when it's a day planned to perfection by Coastside Couture that features one seriously adorable duo and some of the prettiest blooms you will ever lay your eyes upon from Laughing Gal Floral.  That's the kind of traditional shindig I can really spend the day with.  Join me in the gallery captured by Jo Ann Manolis.  It's awesome.
And a sweet film from BigTime Video...

From Coastside Couture... It's not uncommon for us to be interviewed by the Bride's family as they may be the local connect to the area. The minute I met Chelsea's Mom Ki, I knew we had a special connection. Ki (MOB) reminded me of my mom, through our initial conversation I had a sneaking suspension that their relationship was parallel to the one my mom and I shared, VERY close, very trusting, and of like minds. Not only that but I really enjoyed every minute of my time with Ki. I actually didn't meet Chelsea until we had been hired but my suspisons were correct, we had similar tastes, we both have a deep love for our mommas, the ocean and pretty things. I felt confident that Chelsea understood I had her wedding vision and best interest in mind which makes for the best bride, she got to enjoy the planning process and ultimately relax and the weekend of the wedding.

Typically September is known for it's beautiful sunny days in the Monterey Bay but on the day that Chelsea and Brian's wedding took place in Pebble Beach this incredibly romantic fog rolled in right before the ceremony. It was so fitting as Chelsea had chosen to walk down the aisle to "Into the Mystic" by Van Morrison.

One of my favorite details of this wedding and Chelsea's mom Ki did it, was that the table numbers had pictures of both Chelsea and Brian at that age, so table 11 had Chelsea and Brian when they were actually 11 pictured on it, table three were them when they were just three years old (collectively of course). It was such a sweet touch to help the guests to their tables but also to fill in gaps of the couples life.

From the Bride... Brian and I met in early 2009 through one of my closest, long-time friends, Aliza, while I was back home in Santa Cruz for a weekend. Something felt different and I was drawn to him instantly.

Because I was attending college in Long Beach, and Brian lived in Santa Cruz at the time, I had to make a special trip home for our first date. He picked me up at the airport on a Saturday morning and we drove to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Growing up in Santa Cruz, the aquarium was a place I frequented as a kid and where I learned to appreciate the ocean. We bonded over this mutual understanding and love for the California coast. We spent the day talking, taking pictures, and exploring. That night we had dinner over the water and watched the sun go down on the Monterey Bay. It was the best first date of my life.

That date was the first of many to follow in the area. Monterey, Carmel and Pebble Beach were our getaways and favorite spots to spend the day.

Brian surprised me on my birthday in April of 2012 when he proposed to me on the beach where we grew up. With candles and rose petals lining the path, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. With both our parents watching from afar, it was one of the happiest days of our lives, right next to our wedding.

Brian’s pre-recs for our wedding were simple. He wanted it to be a day and night that was just as special and fun for family and friends as it was for us. With that as our leading principle, the overall theme of the wedding was in my hands. Just when I began to grow frustrated over finding the right location, things fell into place perfectly when we were so fortunate to be offered the private home in Pebble Beach to be used as our venue. Having made so many memories in this area, and so near to our first date, it felt very natural. With such a stunning piece of land overlooking the ocean, surrounded by beautiful moss-covered cypress trees, it was in no need of extra décor.

Wanting to create a soft, classic, beachy feel with an understated elegance, I primarily focused on colors and textures. My wedding planner, Karissa, was so fun to work with. She understood my vision, and led me in the right direction to vendors she knew would embrace my ideas.

I fell in love with so many different styles of weddings I came across on Style Me Pretty. When making decisions on ours, I really had to hone in on our theme and stick with it in all aspects. Because I wanted to focus on the natural beauty of the setting, I didn’t want to make a statement with large centerpieces or loud linens even though I’d admired these while looking at other weddings. I felt that the flowers alone should set the tone and be the primary focal point. Our florist absolutely nailed it. She produced arrangements that were even more beautiful than what I had envisioned. Even looking back at the photos now, I am in awe of the floral arrangements.

As the unexpected fog rolled in that day, Brian and I were pleasantly surprised at how at ease it made us feel, and even more surprised with what a magical atmosphere it created.  From the delicious, home-grown, organic local food and phenomenal service our caterers provided to our talented photographer, videographer, lighting crew and beyond, we couldn’t have been more pleased with the outcome and grateful to all that helped us pull it off. All the pieces fell together into a true representation of our love for one another.

From crying, to laughing, to dancing, it was the party of a lifetime and the perfect start to many wonderful years to come.
