Art gallery weddings define chic. Modern with an edge, they always have serious style, and this beauty from Silverlight Photography is no different. It's sophisticated yet sweet, making this gallery one you could stare at all day. And you can do just that right here.

From the bride...A sleek, sophisticated, modern wedding set in an art gallery in the centre of downtown Toronto. The gallery's exposed brick and metal architecture, juxtaposed with vibrant abstract paintings provided a stunning backdrop for our dream wedding. Modern, clean arrangements of white gladioli, white dendrobium orchids and white dahlias were placed throughout the gallery to complement the artwork in the space.

The gallery itself has important significance to us because I (the bride) am an oil painter and graphic designer and wanted to show my personality in the space. I painted a portrait of my groom and had it hung in the gallery. My husband is a musician and medical student and we had his band play as I walked down the aisle. He even surprised me with a rendition of Van Morrison's Crazy Love that he had pre-arranged for some of the guests participate in.

We wanted to keep everything very clean and elegant, so the details were carefully considered. We found a 19th century Indian Dowry box to put our cards in. The groom's parents are both from Goa, India and so it had important significance for us. The favours for the guests were soundtracks from the wedding which featured songs from the my husband's band "The Matthews Brothers" and which I designed and had printed. I designed the programs, favours and other elements from the wedding to be very clean and modern with an emphasis on typography.

My dress and the bridesmaid dresses were meant to be sophisticated and elegant. I chose a strapless Pronovias dress and the bridesmaids wore Lazaro dresses all from Ritche bridal. Lilium created elegant bouquets of white garden roses for me and purple calla lilies and roses for the bridesmaids. Jessica Jean Myers created a sleek and sophisticated look for me with a classic bun and clean makeup with a pop of colour on the lips. The boys wore traditional tuxedos that kept in line with our sophisticated theme.

We had food stations set up around the gallery from A La Carte catering which featured mini Yorkshire puddings and roast beef, an extensive choice of vegetarian selections, and finished off with homemade truffles and bite sized desserts.

We had such a wonderful time at our wedding and were so pleased with all of our vendors and the venue that we felt we had to share. Thank you for considering our wedding.
