When planning my own wedding, the idea of a small, intimate affair sounded so romantic. Inviting your nearest and dearest makes for a truly personalized day. Just ask this couple who together with Flower Talk and James Schokman Photography celebrated their love on a mountaintop with thirty five of their loved ones. See it all here.

From the Bride... Jarrod and I chose to have a small, intimate wedding in the beautiful and quaint historic town of York, WA.

Early on, when we started planning our wedding, it became apparent to us both that we did not want our wedding to be a huge performance in front of hundreds of guests. Instead, we decided on a more natural approach and invited only our immediate families and a handful of our closest friends (35 guests in total). This allowed us to spend quality time with each and every one of our guests throughout our wedding day - and in particular, the guests who had travelled from over east and overseas.

Our ceremony took place on Mount Brown Lookout which is situated just 5 minutes from the York Townsite. The lookout has 360 degree views of the township of York and its surrounding countryside. Jarrod and I both have a love for Australian nature, landscapes and the outdoors so this was the perfect spot for us to get married and it was extra special because we were told that no one else had ever been married on the lookout before.

The reception venue we chose was called Laurelville Manor which is a stately, turn-of-the-century Edwardian two story homestead with beautiful wide verandahs. Laurelville also doubled up as the accommodation for the bridal party and immediate family for the entire weekend so we got to spend time with our special guests the day before and after our wedding which was an added bonus.

We loved our wedding weekend because it reflected our true values and outlook on life. It was personal, romantic, fun, spontaneous, relaxed, sentimental and just a tiny bit disorganized!
