California is the land of pretty weddings venues. Venues that are so spectacular they don’t even seem real. Venues like Mission Ranch Hotel. So when you layer on a gorgeous wedding overflowing with color and style on top of such a gorgeous venue, you officially have wedding gold. Lucky for all of us we get to see just such a wedding unfold through the talented lens of Kurt Boomer, and it’s all waiting for you here.
From the Bride…Brandon and I wanted our wedding to feel like a celebration. We wanted to celebrate our commitment and the coming together of families, and we wanted to celebrate the natural beauty of California. What better place than in Carmel-by-the-sea at Mission Ranch Hotel and Restaurant? With hills on either side of a meadow and the ocean in view, little was needed to create a perfect setting.
The venue has an effortless beauty about it and we wanted to echo that with the flowers and decorations. We intentionally kept things simple, but created drama and beauty with fullness and textures. We also didn’t constrain the florist with colors or specifics. Instead, we focused on setting a tone: classic, effortless beauty, and full of cheer.
The sheep that graze in the meadow became an unofficial mascot and we inserted them in fun ways (table cards, save the dates, bridesmaid gifts).
Perhaps the most important requirement was that the wedding didn’t feel like prom. The bridesmaids chose their own navy dresses; the groomsmen their own suits. We purposefully didn’t match the ties to the bridesmaids. The bride’s lace dress with minimal fuss paired well with the groom’s gray three-piece suit – both timeless in their own right.
The day ended up being more than we could ever hope for – a beautiful celebration.
