Whenever I’m designing a home for a client, my number one goal is to make the space feel lived in and loved. There isn’t much I dislike more than a room that’s so carefully curated that it lacks in personality altogether. Which is why this home tour, photographed by Britta Hundertmark , is right up my alley. Cassandra and Trent have done a really wonderful job at making their large, open loft feel cozy, comfortable, and filled to the brim with lots and lots of love. For more, check out the gallery!

From the photographer, Britta… These two are not only so seriously in love, but have also been working for months to redo their loft style home to reflect their personal style. I’d say they reached their goal quite well. Walking into their loft you feel like you have entered some sort of Anthropologie/West Elm/Etsy hybrid; the sweet smell of Voluspa candles and the sound of John Mayers sweet voice spinning on the record player, and the cutest pup you will ever see greeting you at the door will make you feel immediately at home.

I consider myself incredibly lucky to have been able to capture their home and their love one Sunday afternoon, and can not wait to share, so grab a mid day coffee, and enjoy.”

From Cassandra… My sweet, talented and over the top generous friend, Britta, was kind enough to take these images for us. It was a funny thing, because while I contemplated photographing our space myself (since I too am a photographer), I realized how nice and magical it would be to have someone come in with fresh eyes – and see what they thought worth capturing. She did such an amazing job getting into each and every detail, and highlighting the things that are most important to us without us saying so much as a word. So okay, maybe we don’t have fresh cakes baked and ready on our dining room table on an average Sunday, but we DO always have flowers on hand (not as gorgeous as the ones that Foxglove Studio put together for us!) and we always, always have candles burning. It’s a must.

I’m so grateful for these photos for many reasons – to document the first home that Trent and I designed together, to capturing stills of things we hand picked on lazy afternoons while sitting on our computer, or crazy weekends fighting crowds at interior shops, having reminders that we tried to pick what we wanted carefully.. choosing local artists and handmade items whenever and wherever we could. But mostly, I’m grateful for these photos because it’s a lovely reminder of just how lucky we are to have a space as relaxing and peaceful as this one, and how lucky I am to have Trent to come home to every single day.”
