When bloggers become brides, we get all sorts of giddy. Not just because their weddings tend to be some of the best (can you say, style for miles?) but because celebrating the Big Day of a fellow friend in the blogosphere is something really special. And today we’re raising our glasses — err, coffee mugs — to the fabulous Jenna of Eat, Live, Run. Along with the help of Eventfully Yours’ and Astrid Photography, this super stylish foodie managed to pull off one of the cutest country-chic days EVER. From Astrid… Jenna, the famous food and lifestyle blogger of Eat Live Run and author of “White Jacket Required :: A Culinary Coming-of-Age Story” married her best friend, Adam on May 25, 2013 at the brand new Austin, Texas venue Pecan Springs Ranch. It was like walking right into a land of retro-vintage furniture, wild flowers, cowgirl boots, and of course all organic, locally grown food. From her blissfully sweet short wedding dress, to the hand painted signs, the details and thought put into this wedding made Jenna + Adam’s vision come together perfectly.
From the Bride, Jenna….The theme we embraced for our wedding was somewhere between casual Texas ranch and vintage chic. I had grown up loving the Little House on the Prairie books, and had always envisioned an outdoor prairie-like ceremony for my big day. I envisioned burlap, lace, reclaimed wood and vintage bottles holding brightly colored wildflowers on all the tables. Nothing too fancy — just simple and enjoyable. I knew the moment I walked into Pecan Springs Ranch that it was perfect for us. At that time, the venue was still under construction but I loved the owner’s vision for the place and knew it matched our own. All of the vintage rentals came from the venue and were the icing on the cake. All of the wooden signs were handmade by my mother in law out of reclaimed wood found on their East Texas property, except for the Eat Local Organic one, which was made by me. For my dress, I wanted something simple and something I could move in. To be honest, I was much more concerned about the food than the dress! When I found my dress online, I knew instantly that it was the one and it fit perfectly right out of the box. My grandmother gave me her cherished pearl earrings to complete the look. Our guests noshed on gourmet comfort food — organic, free-range roast chicken, macaroni and cheese with brie, dates and bacon, roasted heirloom carrots and brown butter cornbread. At the last minute, all electricity was lost so we just lit hundreds of candles and danced the night away, as the soft Texas breeze whispered in through open doors. It was truly a night to remember; a night full of good friends, laughter, love and delicious food. What more could I ask for?
