More than the minty blue gown (which is amazing by the way) or the modern organic decor, it’s the love story built into the very fabric of this wedding that you’ll be drawn to. Honest, totally unabashed, head-over-heels kind of love and it radiates right off the images captured by Weddings by Sasha. But if I’m being honest, the decor is really amazing too. Crafted by Atelier Joya and planned to perfection by Shannon Leahy Events, it’s fresh and modern and happens to be the perfect compliment to Nancy and Lou and their total adorableness. Don’t you think? Have a look here for more Oscar de la Renta and even more of that love, love, love.
From Shannon Leahy Events… Nancy and Lou were married at the Laurent Studio in San Francisco. Nancy’s story has been one of my favorites to tell friends and family when they ask if I’m working on any interesting jobs this year. Her first wedding at age 58 to the love of her life, Nancy was just as excited and nervous as any young, blushing bride.
Nancy and Lou’s wedding was extremely sophisticated, elegant, modern and fresh. Set in an art gallery in San Francisco, the wedding used lots of concrete, succulents white peonies and leather accents. The escort card display, designed by Atelier Joya, was made of bedsprings with leather tags created to look like a piece that existed in the gallery.
The couple had three officiants, a Bhudist Priest, a Jewish Rabbi and a Judge. Nancy had 32 “bridesmaids” who weren’t required to wear anything special but were asked to dance down the aisle while a Children’s Chorus sang. During cocktail hour a steel drum band entertained guests and after dinner guests were greeted with a Pie Extravagnaza! Lemon meringue pies, apple pies, cherry pies, chocolate banana pies and stacks of brownies and blondies greeted guests who lined up to have servers scoop ice cream a la mode.
