So whether or not you want to tackle our entire Mexican Inspired party from soup to nuts (or in this case chips to guacamole…yeah, I said it) or you simply want to steal a few details for a get together of your very own, these little Papel Picado flags are about as pin-worthy as it gets. They are so stinking cute I can hardly stand it and definitely made our strawberry margarita feel so much more festive and fun!

MaterialsTissue paper
Masking tape
Scissors
Lollipop sticks
Glue

instructions
step-1Gather 4-6 sheets of tissue paper and cut to 1½x3”. Tape the stack together on one of the shorter sides.

step-2 Cut a zigzag edge around 3 sides, leaving the tape side straight.

step-3Fold in half and cut out a heart shape in the center. Continue cutting out any other decorative shapes in the middle section by creating new folds. Having trouble visualizing? Check out this cute video for a clearer picture.

step-4Remove the masking tape and unfold and separate your flags. Put a thin line of glue on your lollipop stick and wrap the straight edge of the flag around the stick. Let dry, then pop into your favorite summer beverage.
