I feel like bridal showers in general have been hit with a bad rep. But let’s be honest, silly games, crustless triangle sandwiches and a store-bought fruit plate isn’t really anyone’s idea of a good time. I’m thinking we need to abolish the stereotypical bridal shower altogether, starting with this one from Jillian Modern. Venturing out to a wine shop with a handful of your favourite lady friends under your arm is one kind of shower I can wholeheartedly stand behind. Something fabulous to sip on, something delicious to nibble on and a handful of simple centrepieces will surely show those age-old bridal showers who’s boss! Who’s with me?! Ps – find the rest of this fun event in the gallery right here.
From Jillian… Pasanella and Son is the cutest little wine shop down in the South Street Seaport of New York. It’s housed in an old building that once acted as a mast factory for the ships that lived there a few hundred years ago. For those in the know, they have a secret back room that simply oozes ambiance and begs for an intimate event. So when it came time for Heather’s bridal shower, the location was obvious! Heather got right to work, gathering inspiration on her Pinterest board. She found a great free download on The Pretty Blog for the cutest vintage paper placemats, and who could resist the poms she scored on etsy. The space really speaks for itself, but one can never have too many details, am I right? Filling the room with all of Heather’s favorite people was the finishing touch.
