Organic, Natural and garden: The three words used to drive the design inspiration and wedding theme. A simple neutral color palette was the perfect backdrop for the colorful flowers and plants her family spent every weekend preparing, thanks to her mom's green thumb and dad's hard work. They loved the juxtaposition of the natural elements of the backyard garden with the soft and elegant white table linens, china and string lights spread over the putting green.
To incorporate their love of games, as each family member and friend entered the ceremony, they signed a little note of encouragement, inside jokes or well wishes to Andy and Honor on a Jenga block. They spent hours in their living room sorting through the blocks after returning home from their honeymooon, brought to tears in laughter.
The food and desserts were another reflection of the family and were catered by Endive. Roasted vegetable lasagna, vino and cannoli for the Italian family (because there is no real Italian celebration without these). Then for the Southern side, there was braised beef brisket with coca-cola gravy, grilled farmers market vegetable medley, and baked red snapper court bouillon!
Almost all of the details were DIY. Honor grew up with a family that spent numerous Saturdays as a family renovating her mom's new vision for the family home or doing projects around the house. Her family inspired in Honor the DIY attitude that they could do anything they put their minds to and growing to love that creative mindset, applied this to her wedding.
