Today we get to focus on the details and only the details. And those details are a glamorous approach to rustic set against the stunning backdrop of Telluride. We love that combo along with anything and everything that Lisa Vorce designs. She has the golden touch, that one, and paired with the floral art of R. Jack Balthazar and the imagery of Jessica Burke; it’s a sight to behold. Lets just say Telluride has met its match. Those mountain views have nothing on this all white tablescape or crimson after-party. From Lisa Vorce… For a wedding ceremony, you could not ask for a more glorious backdrop than the San Sophia overlook in Telluride, Colorado! Surrounded by spectacular 360 degree mountain views, we wanted to keep our ceremony decor super simple to honor our surroundings. For the aisle treatment, R. Jack Balthazar created beautiful “plantings” of thistle and field flowers atop rustic wood pillars. Guests kept cozy with beautiful wool blankets and wraps. The ceremony programs and muslin petal toss bags echoed the graphic mountain pattern we used on the invitations.  The groom’s mother knitted hearts for the groom and the groomsmen to wear in place of a boutonniere which coordinated with the sweet hand-knitted heart ring bearer pillow as well!

For the dinner reception, it was all about the candlelight! In gorgeous Allreds restaurant, R. Jack Balthazar created beautiful table scapes with thin glass vases of mono-botanical arrangements (all Astilbe) and candlelight en masse. Stunning! We used taupe dupionique linens from La Tavola which were the perfect neutral “mountain” tone. Crisp, white hemstitch napkins were treated with a small sprig of thistle and a feather. Such a simple treatment – delivering gorgeous impact. The white cake from Telluride Truffle was simple and modern with two oversized sugar flowers from Sweet and Saucy Shop.

Once the cake was cut, guest were escorted downstairs to a surprise  after-party.  We converted a hidden, unfinished, raw space into a Prohibition-era inspired “speakeasy”. R. Jack Balthazar provided thematic décor including Edison lamps, decanters, and furniture of the era.   The main focal point was a large custom designed graphic “chalkboard” style bar back that featured old cocktail recipes.  It was amazing! Deep red peonies in bell jars added an apothecary feel. To keep the night going, guest enjoyed their favorite coffee or espresso beverage by an award winning barista. The guests danced into the wee hours of the morning to tunes from the amazing DJ Jus-Ske. An incredible evening was had by all!
