So by now you guys are all probably collecting Kinfolk magazines like they are going out of style. Because we all know that Kinfolk is basically everything. For those of you that haven’t yet starting hoarding your issues, it’s a new-ish shelter pub that you can find sitting pretty on most Anthropologie tables and is overflowing with simple, warm, incredibly beautiful ideas for entertaining and design. So when Anais & Dax sent over their first contribution to the magazine, we couldn’t help but take it one step further with a fun Get the Look Feature. There’s so much more in the gallery!
From Anais & Dax…This was our first photo feature contribution to Kinfolk Magazine, and to this day we still get great responses to the images. The editor asked us to translate the idea of being cozy during winter, an actual challenging request, since where we live in LA, there isn’t really any winter! So we thought we’d keep it simple by just documenting a couple passing time together on a cold Los Angeles day.
Our friend Bryan Randall accepted to be our male model, and as his female counterpart we hired Jana S. from LA Models. The chemistry was instant, and we just had a great time photographing them lounging, hanging out and passing time together. Our friend Amber Kerns did beautiful makeup and hair on Jana and the incredible styling was done with our friend Holland Ingersoll. But what also really tied that talent together was our location. After seeing Kinfolk Magazine and loving its concept, the owner of the amazing restaurant Gjelina agreed to lend us the tastefully furnished and designed private apartment above the restaurant.
