There’s something so incredibly timeless about a backyard wedding. Something that feels completely personal, yet distinctly classic simultaneously. It’s the very feeling that carries throughout this backyard beauty which you’d never, ever guess was planned in just three months. There’s a gallery’s worth of images from the talented Troy Grover Photographers to take your breath away and a video from Everly Films to bring it all full circle.

From the bride…Carter and I first met when we were 19 at a friends BBQ while Carter was in college and I was on break from Boston Ballet. Our relationship started long distance him being in Los Angeles me in Boston, him in Arizona and me in Chicago, but after 3 years, we finally ended up in the same state!

Ever since my family moved into my childhood home when I was 11, I’ve always wanted to get married in my backyard. Since it was already the end of July when we got engaged and I wanted to have an outside wedding, we all decided to have the wedding fast, in only 3 months! The first thing we decided after we set a date was to get a photographer. My mom has been a professional photographer since I was born, so finding someone else to photograph one of the most important days of your life was a huge obstacle.  Looking at websites and magazines and no luck, a good friend told me about Troy Grover Photographers, a husband and wife team. I fell in love with their pictures right off the bat. To be honest, I was a little nervous not meeting them before the big day but as soon as I met Troy and Aimee, I felt like I had known them for forever. They were able to assemble everyone for pictures (a big task) and didn’t have to tell them what I wanted pictures of during the day, they just did it! Now I have pictures that are timeless and that I am so excited to show everyone.

We were on a budget and putting a wedding together in such a short time was a really tough task. Fortunately, God has blessed Carter and I with such wonderful families and friends that put so much time and effort helping to make our special day perfection. To cut costs, friends and family made our cupcakes for the cupcake tower, one of my bridesmaids designed beautiful programs and water labels, my maid of honor and family friend made all of the signs at the wedding, my bridesmaids sat for hours putting together invites and party favors and both of our families putting so much love and time into this wedding made all of the hard work and stress worth it. I thank Troy Grover photographers for capturing all of the little details that took so much time all on film for us to keep forever.
