Paris. In all its beauty. It’s the city where love thrives and chic reigns queen. So when we saw this shoot photographed by our friend Joey Kennedy with styling by the fabulously talented Jessica Sloane, we packed our e-suitcases and booked the next imaginary flight out. Because to be in a city this gorgeous, perfect in a flowy, romantic, kiss me right now gown (with a handsome boy on our arms of course) is just about as good as it gets. Unless you count the fact that we’ve come up with a Get the Look Guide so that we can all actually look this beautiful in real life and not just in our Parisian dreams. I know. It’s going to be a good day here on SMP. Click here to see even more.
From Joey Kennedy, the photographer…Richard and Caroline choose Paris for their engagement session. Their wedding was in England the following week and Paris was on the way. We had so much fun playing in the streets and seeing the sights together. I did my best to avoid “cliche” Paris shots. Richard found a great apartment to rent which let us feel like Parisians for our stay. Jessica did an amazing job on locating a fabulous make up artist and styling their wardrobe. Richard and Caroline wanted to leave part of their love behind and choose the age old tradition of placing a lock on the Pont des Arts (bridge of the arts).
From Jessica Sloane, the stylist… This particular project was styled remotely. Only the photographer and the couple were present at the time of the shoot. The couple chose to do this right before their wedding, which took place in England a few days later. I worked with the two of them for several weeks before hand to conceptualize the shoot. I designed an inspiration board (which you can see here) and determined the color palette. I then helped them source their outfits and find a Parisienne hair & makeup artist for the bride, Caroline. We utilized Shop Bop and Nordstrom for the outfits and shoes. Joey shot a lot of the images we submitted on film because we wanted a soft, romantic and intimate session. This couple was really open to my styling suggestions and we had so much fun working together!
