The love exuding from this affair is as bright as the natural light that is drenching each and every photograph shot by Clary Photo. The instant I saw these images, I needed to know more about the photographer behind them and sure enough, she also happens to be a painter. Ah, now it all makes sense as to why all of Simply & Forever‘s stunning details along with Stephen Mueller‘s florals look like water colors on luxe card stock paper. It’s pure perfection and you can see even more right here in the full gallery + a beyond beautiful video from I Do Films.
From the Bride… Charlie and I wanted our wedding to reflect all the things that we love. Coming from religious families, we knew that we both wanted to get married in the church. We love the fall season because that is when we first became friends after we moved in next door to each other. We also both love the outdoors, whether it be running, biking, eating or taking in the sun all the while relaxing outside. We chose the World’s Fair Pavilion for the reception because it is located in the beautiful Forest Park, which we both have come to adore since moving to St. Louis. The stairs leading up to the pavilion are the stairs that we would run every morning in the spring and summer and we would use the bike paths to train for our triathlons. We also tried to incorporate some of our favorite things into the reception decor, mine including antiques, crystal chandeliers, and lace, Charlie’s being nature, history, and fire. I think our wedding turned out to be a lovely mix of both of us. We also had a lot of fun with the food, having butternut squash soup shooters, barbequed shrimp, and lamb for hors d’oeuvres. We also made it a point to include imported and domestic cheeses, chocolates and cordials in the dessert menu, and had our favorite food, pizza, as a late night snack.
The most repeated advice we received leading up to our wedding day was to slow down and take time to enjoy every minute of the day. I think we both followed this advice pretty well and our wedding ended up just as we wanted it to be: romantic, relaxed and full of our favorite people. The party of course was a blur but I remember it being full of of crazy dancing, with numerous guests on stage with the band having dance-offs, with endless amounts of cheering, laughing, hugging and kissing. We loved getting to see that all of our friends and family- many who had met for the first time that weekend- were hopping into the photobooth together for goofy pictures and acting as if they were longtime friends. One of my favorite parts of day was ending the night with a horse and carriage ride through the park where Charlie and I were able to spend the last 20 minutes, just the two of us, soaking in every last minute of the beautiful evening!
