With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, our minds are on romance and all things pink. And then this pretty ditty danced into our lives courtesy of Jessica Burke Photography. It’s got the romance, it’s definitely got the pink and seems like the perfect segue to a day o’ love coming tomorrow. From Mary Ellen of Off the Beaten Path Weddings… Travis and Katie met five years ago on her birthday. When they contacted Off the Beaten Path Weddings, they were looking for a non-cookie cutter venue that felt like an Italian home. They mentioned that the most important aspect of their celebration was a scenic outdoor property that was relaxed but also a little elegant. Travis’ mom lives in Napa Valley and they visit a lot so they had a connection to Napa Valley.
We found them the perfect Tuscan-inspired estate in the heart of Napa Valley that had the relaxed Wine Country elegance that they love so much. Their amazing save the date was the two of them stomping grapes in authentic wine barrels…a wonderful way to get people excited about the Wine Country wedding! Katie loves pink peonies so a June wedding when peonies are in full season made perfect sense! The colors of pinks and grays set among wood farm tables was both rustic and elegant. The use of mercury glass brought it all together beautifully!
During the cocktail time, guests enjoyed Italian inspired appetizers such as “Nonies Hand rolled Meat Ball Brochettes”, sparkling wine, and a “farm to table” signature cocktail – whiskey sour with local cherries that were in full season! A hip local jazz band played through dinner and HOG ISLAND OYSTER FARM from Bodega Bay provided the oyster bar with shucker that created such a fun atmosphere!!
Guests feasted on a family style meal with a served heirloom cherry tomato and arugula salad with fresh basil from the garden with the remainder of the meal being family style family – Campanelle pasta with spring peas, asparagus and a meyer lemon sauce! Sea bass and Creekstone Farms Angus Sirloin along with colorful and market inspired veggies! After dinner the DJ took over to finish out the night with dancing under the stars and a canopy of beautiful bistro lights. Later in the evening a popcorn bar with assorted salts that included truffled salt and grated cheeses and other toppings was available to enjoy while sitting around the huge firepit, telling stories and sharing fun!
