We sing the praises of backyard weddings on a daily basis here at SMP and with good reason. They are awesome – and the perfect place to weave a day that is all at once elegant and chock-full of personality. Which is why we fell fast for this Alabama stunner from A Southern Affair and Glass Jar Photography, aka, a DIY masterpiece of rustic details, family heirlooms (see: the amazing gown) and a vintage touch or two. Oh, Wedding Wednesday. We love you. Click here for sooo much more and then stay tuned for a beautiful film from Glass Jar Photography below.
From Glass Jar Photography… Ali and Blakely designed, decorated, and set up there own wedding at a family home in Alabama. Her dress was family heirloom passed down from her grandmother, then mother, now hers. Then she bought a new shorter reception dress to party in. Ali started her own wedding planning + styling company called “A Southern Affair Events” and works as the day of coordinator at a venue called “The Winchester Manor” in North Alabama, so planning her and Blakely’s day was really fun for her. They plowed the field and built the arbor, and either made or designed every detail themselves. They also have two dogs they LOVE and wanted to incorporate into as many details and parts of the day as possible.
