Here we are, the morning of a brand new sparkly New Year, ready to ring in 2013. It definitely calls for some bubbly and most certainly calls for a wedding that is dripping in glamour. Well pretties, break out your highest heels and get ready to pop a few bottles because this soiree from Braedon Photography will have you feeling fancy even if last night was a wee bit on the long side. Complete with a dress code for the guests and not one but two completely breathtaking gowns, it’s a gallery filled with the stunning stylings from Sugar & Fluff Design House that will have you raising your flute (mimosas anyone?) over and over. Cheers!
From Braedon Photography… This wedding was pretty unique, glamorous wedding held in Los Angeles. The groom Niko is from Greece and the wedding was filled with Greek tradition. From the groomsmen stripping Niko and dressing him, to the grand Greek church for the ceremony, then money flying and plates breaking during the reception. The wedding was themed after Beauty and the Beast. Heather had 2 matching Vera Wang Wedding dresses, one white for the daytime ceremony, and then an incredible black vera wang wedding dress for the reception.
From Sugar & Fluff Design House… When Heather and Niko met with us, they had one major request–their color palette would be red, black and white, and guests were required to wear all black to the reception. While the restrictions would be daunting to any designer–we accepted their challenge and began research immediately after touring their lovely home and hearing more about them as a couple. A few hours into our first session and we knew it was a perfect match as we all agreed on the same designers, and knew Disney was an integral part of our work (especially as they are employed by the company!)
Pulling heavily from the Elizabethan Gothic era, we fell in love with the concept of introducing Beauty and The Beast as the major theme along with elements from the Vienna Secession movement. Though we started with a rigid color palette, we were able to stem into an analagous color scheme that pulled hues of bordeaux and magenta with red along with espresso and gold from black to add depth and richness to the reception. Guests were invited with custom letterpressed invitations we designed, courtesy of Lilikoi printing. On the day of, guests entered the Vibiana foyer to be greeted by one of our matrons to sign the guest book, find their seats, and admire the mantle-piece adorned with some of Niko and Heather’s favorite novels.
Cocktail hour was set under the mezzanine and the curtains were pulled for the grand opening of the reception. Long exposed wooden tables were adorned with gold candelabras, tapered candles, bell jars and asymmetrical flowing urns of lush flowers and ivy. We pulled a custom roundabout bar and furniture for our lounge area courtesy of Disregarden, which were reupholstered and restained to tie into our scheme. We also had a photobooth constructed by Discovered Interiors with an Authentic Baroque frame-piece, filled with corks from some of Heather and Niko’s special occasion wines (did we mention this couple LOVES their wine?) After their five-course dinner, guests were treated to a fantastic Greek Band and the grand finale of the money and plate dance!
