From the Bride… My husband and I tied the knot on September 29, 2012. We didn’t waste any time; he proposed to me just three short months prior on June 26 while out on a hike when we visited his family in northern Ontario. We originally thought we may get married in November, but my father’s health is rapidly deteriorating, so we chose to do it as early as we could. We decided to keep the ceremony small, as I have always imagined getting married at my parents’ house, and my husband always hoped for a small wedding. We had the best of both worlds with our small ceremony followed by a larger reception at a golf course. The ceremony was everything we had imagined. My childhood home is a heritage building that was originally a Methodist church; it is full of vintage character. The idea was to keep the environment laid-back, cozy, loving and comfortable. We knew it would be an emotional day, so we wanted to keep it as intimate as possible. The photos captured by Lisa of Lavish & Light Photography reflect the essence of our cherished families. I can truly see love in every photograph. Lisa has a remarkable ability to utilize natural lighting while capturing the most genuinely emotional moments. These are very important concepts to us as we only wanted our wedding day to be portrayed as it truly was — filled with romance, tears, love and laughter. We could not be more  grateful that we have a record of this very special day that holds so many extraordinary memories we will treasure for the rest of our lives.
