Handmade weddings crafted with a whole lot of heart are some of the most beautiful affairs we come across. They have that extra special sauce that only love (and crafty family and friends) can produce. And this particular affair has extra, EXTRA special sauce. It’s called golden California sunshine and it’s setting every single image captured by Custock Photography a glow. See all the sunshiny goodness right here.
From the Bride… Everything from the cake and the pies, to the seating chart and table numbers were homemade with love by my friends, family, and ourselves. Our wedding took place at a unique venue, a small campsite located on a tiny island that myself (the bride) grew up on since I was 3. The location was so special because I have many memories playing and running around that park as a child and it was truly special having my father walk me down the isle in the same place we used to play at.
What made the day so special was that everyone I loved added a little touch to the day. I am blessed to have so many creative and handy friends and family who helped make everything happened. My father and brother did all of the handy work, including the beautiful redwood altar that we stood underneath. My mother created the baby breath garland and made many treasure hunts with me collecting old jars, bottles, and other unique antiques that helped create the fun little details throughout the reception. A wonderful friend did all the flowers, my sister home-made the guy’s bow-ties, and my aunts, cousins, and in-laws made all the delicious pies and gorgeous cake, and my friend created our invitations. Everywhere we looked we were reminded of how loved we were by all the hard work that was put into making the day beyond beautiful.
My favorite detail that we created was the seating display. It was an old door that had a tea-stained luggage tag with a swatch of fabric that matched the fabric of their table for every guest. My favorite memory from the day was dancing our first dance to a song that Cameron wrote and recorded for me that I had never heard before. He sung every word to me as it played in the background and it ended with everyone in tears, including myself of course! It was a beautiful, unique moment and now I have a song to listen back to and remember our first-dance for years to come.
