This Savannah wedding has us seriously swooning this morning. It's classic, yet has just the right touch of whimsy in all its DIY decor to keep it light, fun, and total unexpected. This talented couple designed everything from their invitations, to the gray and white chevron table runners, to the beyond adorable flower escort cards. It comes as no surprise that they met and fell in love in design school! Nate Henderson Photography snapped up all the pretty and you can see all the rest right here.
From the Bride... Nic and I both attended the Savannah College of Art and Design but actually met in Los Angeles through mutual friends after graduation. It seemed fitting to hold our wedding in the beautiful city of Savannah, Georgia, because without first attending SCAD, we might never have met at all!
We’re both creative people, so it was important to us to infuse the wedding with personal and handmade touches. Our invitation suite became our labor of love. We spent months designing it with the help of our friend and best man and had it printed by a local letterpress shop in San Francisco. I designed and hand-made “escort cards,” which were fabric flowers with a hair clip on the back that were clipped to a bamboo dowel. One of my favorite memories from the day was walking into our reception and seeing all of our guests wearing the flowers in their hair and clipped to their jacket lapels. It felt so personal and touching. Nearly every element of the wedding had handmade touches. I sewed the gray and white chevron table runners, and my mom made a banner for the guest trolleys and the beautiful yellow felt flower that adorned our cake. Our programs, table numbers, guestbook and bridesmaid jewelry were all handmade by us or purchased on Etsy.
We were married at the Historic Isaiah Davenport House courtyard with a small garden ceremony. Our guests were then treated to a trolley tour of the city, and we all celebrated together with a reception at Vic's on the River overlooking the Savannah River.
