We love hearing the little details of our couple’s lives like how they met and fell in love…the romantic stories get us every time! Take this adorable couple for instance. They started their relationship as friends, commuting buddies actually. So it makes total sense that their e-session took place underground, exactly where they spent all that time together, getting to know one another. CLY CREATION captured it all brilliantly and you can see even more right here.
From the Bride-to-Be… Friends became lovers. That’s our story and it’s resonant in our relationship, our interests, and our interaction with one another. It was important for us to find someone who would be able to capture these elements. We wanted our engagement pictures to reflect our everyday selves, so we decided to have our pictures taken en route of our daily commute together. David and I commuted together from NJ to NYC morning and evening daily, and it was during this commute that our relationship truly progressed, through thick and thin, through traffic on the NJ Turnpike, through bus delays, tunnel jam and random easy breezy 20 minute bus rides into Port Authority. It was inevitably our daily routine, and it was special because it was our thing.
I was a bridesmaid for a friend’s wedding, and there I was introduced to Matthew from CLY CREATION. He was just so amazing in making all of us, especially the bride, feel comfortable and at ease throughout the entire day. After that, I, too, most definitely wanted to work with Matthew. And of course, I was confident that he would be able to help us achieve the kind of engagement session we wanted based on his previous work.
We met with Matthew at Port Authority in NYC to start our engagement session at Gate 211, and Matthew even found us a loose bus sign for us to use as prop! We proceeded with our usual commute to enter the subway station to take the Uptown E train to 53rd and Lexington Avenue stop. We even stopped by “our” Starbucks and had the opportunity to take pictures carrying my favorite Starbucks drink and David’s favorite food of all time: the Subway foot-long. We wanted to capture pictures from this area because we were moving into the neighborhood soon after and to preview to our upcoming black-tie wedding in January by wearing classic, black and white attire.
When we received the pictures from Matthew, we could not have been more thrilled. Thanks to Matthew, we’re so excited for our upcoming wedding date and can’t wait to see what he has in store for us from our special day!
