The ladies of SMP are wedding lovers through and through. It should come as no surprise that we are all “the kind of girl” who daydreams about our wedding on an hourly basis (even if most of us are married – vow renewals are so chic now). So when we come across a wedding that could easily be straight out of one of our daydreams, and learn the bride was not “that kind of girl” we’re shocked + inspired. This bride wasn’t sure what she wanted out of her big day until she sat down with 2Chic Events & Designs, who worked their wedding magic and created a masterpiece for Scott Andrew Studio to photograph. The gallery is waiting here – for any “kind of girl” (or guy)!

Adam and I met over 5 years ago through mutual friends. Right away we recognized our interests and hobbies were very much the same, but never thought we’d end up dating… let alone married. It only took numerous nights out with friends, me beating him at trap shooting, an April Fool’s joke gone badly, and a family vacation for us both to realize we were perfect for one another. We dated for almost 3 years when Adam proposed exactly the way he always knew he would… In Carmel, on the beach, at sunset. It was absolutely perfect.

Thus began our year long planning process. Let me start by saying, I had never been “that” girl who had dreamt of her wedding day her whole life. In fact, I had hardly put any thought into any of the details… period. Adam had stated right away that he wanted my mom and me to enjoy the experience together, but was (almost) always ready to offer his opinion and was more than wonderful throughout. So, my mom and I started looking at magazines, printing pictures, and searching online, only to realize that we had NO idea where to start or what we were doing! The best decision we made was hiring Aimee from 2Chic Events & Design. She was organized, calm, knowledgeable, and collected which was everything we were not.

Our overall vision started with the gazebo. It was the only thing that we could all agree upon at that point, so Adam and I spent a weekend gathering old barn wood for the legs and decided to make that our focal point. I loved the idea of chandeliers, crystals, and lots of flowers for both the ceremony and reception, and because they were the only things I was certain of, we then had an inspiration. Aimee, the talented professional she is, patiently sorted through and pulled together all of our other eclectic ideas and the day began to fall into place. I tried to personalize as many details as possible to make the day about Adam and I, and our personal style. (Mostly mine, some of Adam’s, and some of my mom’s) It all worked out!

When our big day finally arrived, I could not believe all of the beauty! Our hard work had paid off and every last detail fell into place. Adam and I had chosen our venue because of the beautiful landscapes and the welcoming reception area, where the ambiance flowed well throughout. I could not have asked for a more perfect wedding. For which, I owe the biggest thanks to my parents for giving me the wedding of my dreams. I have so many things I loved about our special day. My most favorite being the man I married and with whom I look forward to forever with. My custom wedding gown that my mom and I spent hours deciding on: Which lace? What kind of ruffles? Which placement for the floral accents? {and the list goes on and on} was phenomenal and I was honored to wear it! The best part of the dress was the note my mom had embroidered for me and put in a pocket made from the lace of her wedding gown. We had an exceptional wedding party, our family and friends were so much fun, the décor was fabulous, and everyone we worked with was outstanding in making our day possible. It was all we’ve ever wanted and more.
