Big Sur and beautiful images captured by Danielle Capito are such a good match. The kind of match that showcases a glowing Bride and her happy Groom along with an intimate ceremony overlooking the Pacific Ocean and a reception with the same lovely view. Each of these elements on their own is enough to grab our attention, but all together they showcase just how to craft a seaside affair with loads of easy elegance. See so much more right here.

From the Bride… Ever since Jeff and I went to Big Sur in 2005, we knew that some day we would be getting married there. The natural beauty in Big Sur is breathtaking and magnificent. As soon as we saw Wind & Sea, we wanted it to be our spot where we bound our family. It was the perfect balance between that feeling of home and wilderness. The months leading up to the wedding, we were busy putting meaning into almost every single detail of our wedding — from his tie clip, to the flower choices and the food. We wanted our 40 guests to have a romantic, southern charm feeling. For months, we picked raspberries from our garden and then prepared homemade jam for our wedding favors. I made the pie stands and designed the wedding invitations myself. We loved every second of personalizing our day.

I walked down the aisle to the viola playing “Let Me Call You Sweetheart,” a song that my grandfather used to sing. Our short but close-knit ceremony was put together by us and my dad, who usually writes and officiates weddings in Florida. Afterward, we played New Orleans jazz during cocktail hour and sipped on our personalized signature cocktails, “Laura’s Cuban Mojito” and “Jeff’s Gin Buck.” The dinner menu and appetizers were inspired by our favorite southern dishes. We wanted our food to be memorable and part of the overall theme. After pie, sparklers, fire dancing and a bonfire, we had an unexpected dance party on the deck with a sky full of stars above. The weather was gorgeous and so was our company. It was everything that we ever dreamed of and then some. The day went way beyond any expectations that I possibly could have had. It blew us away!
