It's no secret that we're total suckers for backyard weddings around these parts, but when said backyard is a sweet, urban oasis, we go into swooning overdrive! This super casual, intimate affair reminds us that your big day doesn't have to be big at all. It can be a simple ceremony with just a handful of your closest friends. Oh, and great food and al fresco dining doesn't hurt! Léon Images captured this sweet day to perfection. See it all right here.
From Léon Images... Michelle and Darren, both west coast transplants living in Brooklyn, wanted a wedding that reflected their laid-back, casual lifestyle. Darren’s brother, Daniel Korb, hosted the intimate ceremony and reception in the backyard of his charming brownstone in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The single table for eight guests was draped with a blue and white seersucker tablecloth and burlap place mats. Sprigs of rosemary and lavender wrapped the linens. Flowers were purchased from the farmer’s market in pretty greens and indigos, arranged by the groom’s brother and placed in vintage mason jars.
After a small ceremony, the guests were treated to a special 12-course tasting menu catered by one of their favorite New York City chefs, Jehangir Mehta. The incredible dinner was served al fresco under a sky illuminated by stars and festoon lights. Dessert included cupcakes from Billy’s Bakery and artisanal root beer floats with homemade ice cream hand-made by the groom. No event would be complete without the presence of Michelle and Darren’s beloved French bulldog, Higgins, who wore a Tommy Hilfiger bow tie especially for the occasion. Michelle added, “Our wedding was everything I could have hoped for – unique and unforgettable. Because of the small guest list, we were really able to enjoy everyone’s company and share a lovely meal.” We couldn’t agree more.
