We have such a treat for you today. It’s a party, of course. But it’s so much more than that because today, we’re really breaking it apart, getting down to the nitty gritty and showing you how to design a beautiful celebration from inspiration to the last toast. Starting the way we always start on SMP…with an inspiration board. Because we whole heartedly believe that whether you are planning a wedding, or a surprise birthday party like this one, that having a refined inspiration board will ensure that your vision comes together beautifully. Here’s ours…
And here are the details of our celebration…
The Event: Surprise Birthday Party for Mother-in-Law
The Environment: Effortless glam. Something that felt special and yet cozy, filled only with people that love her the most and a sense of true luxury.
The Design Concept: Having fallen in love with the New York Nude sequined linens from La Tavola, we wanted to use those as our design starting point. From there, we wanted to layer in organic, wooden touches, kraft papers, watercolor elements and handdrawn calligraphy pieces. The look needed to be both crafted and yet elegant. Beautiful enough to feel special but intimate enough to feeling like home.
The vendors who helped make it happen:
Designer & Planner: Sarah True of True Event
Designer: Abby Larson, Style Me Pretty & Jess Blazejewski
Florals: Yumiko of Hana Floral Design
Paper & Favors: Julie of Song Ink
Photography: Justin Marantz
Cupcakes: Georgetown Cupcake
Rentals: Rentals Unlimited & New England Country Rentals
Linens: La Tavola
Beauty: Kristine Collins
Okay, so next up we have such fun. We are literally piecing this celebration apart, starting with our sketches then showing you how we envisioned laying it all out and how these concepts are transformed into a beautiful, effortless celebration. Here’s a little sneak peek of all the pretty yet to come…
I KNOW! I know! We’re so excited about today. We loved the result of our dinner party and can’t wait to show you how it all unfolded. Starting with the invitations and paper goods coming up next. AND a not to be missed piece of art that we incorporated into the decor, gifting to our guest of honor at the end of the night. It’s SO good.
