From the moment our newly announced book hit the pre-order shelves (here, here and here), we’ve been flooded with questions about it. Namely, that absurdly beautiful gown that seems to float right off the page. Well, today, we’re unveiling the full shoot in all its perfect Jose Villa glory with more gorgeousness than you will be able to handle. Literally. You might need to grab an early afternoon cocktail just to mute the high you’ll be on after devouring each and every photograph. Designed by Joy de Vivre with florals by Florette and gowns by Samuelle Couture + Sarah Seven, this my friends, is why we love our jobs so very much. PS. This is a three parter but if you want to cheat and see them all, click right here!
From Joy de Vivre Design Boutique… This shoot was a dream to design. The location was so inspiring with its sprawling staircases, dramatic archways and incredible views. I wanted to create something elegant and glamorous that fit the location, without being overly stuffy. To highlight the old world look, I decided to mix and match some fabulous pieces from Found Vintage Rentals with the exquisite tabletop china and glassware from Casa de Perrin. Kelly Kaufman of Florette created the most effortless and feminine florals that looked like they’d just been picked from the garden. To add some whimsy, Betsy Dunlap created an invitation suite that looked like something you’d see on the inside cover of an old book. The villa has a great old oak tree that made the perfect ceremony setting. To really highlight the tree, I had Bella Vista Designs hang nine gold chandeliers at different heights to create the illusion of one big chandelier.
