From the Bride... Since we had the wedding at Cambria Pines Lodge, we thought a rustic, romantic, garden wedding would fit our personalities perfectly, Rustic on Thomas' part, and romantic on mine. :) We did almost everything on our own — it was a total DIY wedding.
Thomas and I made the centerpieces from my grandparents old redwood deck they replaced. Thomas spent hours and hours making them perfect, all the way down to the copper nails. We absolutely love succulents. We have a gazillion here at our house. Thomas started growing the succulents about five months before our wedding under a light in our garage during the winter months. He loves to garden and is a bee keeper, so naturally our favors for my bridal shower were honey. We gave the centerpieces as thank you gifts to our parents, grandparents and wedding party. The burlap fit our rustic theme perfectly, and I'm a Pinterest nut, so I of course am re-purposing all of it. My grandma, Thomas and I made the jam as favors. I would spend my summer months when I was little making jam with her, so I thought it would be a perfect favor, and Thomas was eager to help. My grandpa made our cake box. I made the cake topper (it cost about $3!) and the Mossy "M." I had the sign-in tree made on Etsy, which I thought would fit right in.
My favorite moment of the day was our "first look." All day you are surrounded by so many people and its go go go! It was nice to have our special moment alone. We were able to refocus and remember why we were there.
