For a girl that is tethered to her desk the vast majority of the time, I’m pretty close to a kid in a candy store when we get to help host an event in our own hometown of Boston. Especially when it’s on Newbury Street at the fabulous Crush boutique and literally overflowing with the most absurdly good cupcakes and pretties a girl could ever want. Designed and executed by our sweet friend Sarah True, who has expanded her wedding designing and planning biz to the Boston area (yay!!), with paper goods by Paper Moss, sweets by the new Georgetown Cupcakes Boston location, florals by Hana Floral Design, photographs by Suzanna March and so much more.
While the whole event was built to celebration a few new names hitting the Boston wedding scene (ummm…hello Sarah True of True Events and yum to the fact that Georgetown Cupcakes has a fabulous new Newbury space). But woven beautifully into the event was a moment just for us SMP-ers. Sarah crafted the most beautiful of beautiful tablescapes perfect for our new At Home section. The design was kept simple but stunning, intimate and entirely cozy, set up for all of those dinner parties that you’ve dreamed of throwing.
The event in its entirety was crafted to celebrate True Event in Boston and to raise glasses to their newest addition, Caitlin, joining the Boston office as a full time senior event coordinator/designer. And to team up with some of the best of Boston as a showcase for all things chic and utterly fabulous. For guests it was a night to come see the latest trends in fashion while getting inspiration for their wedding or a wedding or wedding related event they are attending this Fall.
Emily from Paper Moss used the Crush Event invitation to inspire the peach chevron pieces which complimented the deep jewel tones and pops of gold and papaya to perfection. Topped with golden hued chargers, classic but chic golden flatware, white hemstitch napkins, spice dupioni linen and a collection of AMAZING DIY chevron printed vases (the full project is coming up next)…and the table was complete. Complete and fabulous. All of the rentals were scored at Rentals Unlimited, who we love for their awesome range of classic and chic pieces, and the absolutely lovely florals were done by one of the sweetest, most talented peeps out there, Yumiko of Hana Floral Design. Layer all that with mini cupcakes in flavors like Salted Caramel (my personal favorite), Red Velvet & Peanut Butter Fudge (yuu-UM) and the event was just about as good as it gets.
