There's a scottish proverb that goes "When the cup is full, carry it even." Well, my cup runneth over for this festive wedding by Dave Abreu Photography. From hand-painted signs by the father of the bride to a unique, yet personal choice in wedding cake by Cheese Boutique this couple literally takes the cake in originality. I grant you full permission to bust out some bag pipes and sip on some scotch while flipping through the entire gallery here.

From the Bride... Our day was absolutely perfect! We had great family and friends to help us pull all the last minute details together, including my mom and Matt's aunt, who were both so helpful! Our story is definitely different ... we were introduced by Matt's aunt and uncle at their daughter's birthday party. I had been living with them when I initially started my job, and they knew that we would be perfect for each other. Our wedding was focused on the things we love: family, friends, food (especially cheese) and dancing. We wanted a place that had a beautiful setting. Penryn Park and its staff were exactly what we needed. They have a gorgeous mansion, greens and pool area where our party was held. They were able to provide all of the catering and decor. Matt is part Scottish and always wanted to wear a kilt for the wedding. We were able to bring in little touches of Scotland, including the boutonnieres (a Scottish thistle) and a bagpiper, who piped the bridal party into the reception. My good friend did our invitations, menus, seating chart and table names. We named our tables after our favorite Scotch and wine regions (things we both love to drink). We made place cards with old wine corks and card. Our "cake" was exactly what we wanted: wheels of cheese layered upon each other surrounded by nuts, figs and other fruits. My dad hand-painted signs directed our guests to the cocktail reception, ceremony site and dinner tent. There's an old Catholic tradition that if you hang a rosary in a tree, you'll have great weather for your day, and we did. June 18th was the most spectacular day of our lives!
