From the Bride... We met almost three years ago at a party. He was an MBA intern at Apple, and I had just moved back home from undergrad. When I found out that he was going to be moving back to Seattle for school, I wasn’t too keen on starting a long-distance relationship, but he was cute … so it couldn’t hurt keeping in touch! He ended up getting a job offer at Apple and moved to San Francisco. At the time, we were both in a relationship. New Year’s rolled around, we were both single, I was in the city, and after a run-in at a concert we decided to grab brunch on New Year’s Day. I was a TOTAL MESS at brunch. Sick, slightly hung-over, drowsy from Sudafed, and he apparently found that charming enough to ask me out to the symphony for our first official date.
The proposal was a complete surprise! For my birthday he had given me “a day in New York City.” We were originally planning on going out to NJ for his nephew’s first birthday, and he told me there was no way we could pass up going to New York. I was so excited! We took a red-eye into the city, and embarked on our NY adventure. First off, it was GORGEOUS that day! Perfect weather for a sundress and flip flops. After walking across Brooklyn Bridge, grabbing brunch at the Sex and the City diner (I forget the name), I told him I wanted to go shopping for something to bring back home that would remind me of NY. So he took me to Central Park, explaining that there is plenty of shopping nearby. He wanted to find the boathouse, and then suggested that we rent a row-boat. As we neared the middle of the lake, he put the oars down, reached into his backpack and got down on one knee in the middle of the row boat! It was pretty perfect!
From Meg Perotti... Audrey and Hunter’s wedding was filled with traditional elements, alongside excitement and intrigue from the moment they said “I do,” from their traditional Catholic wedding ceremony in Menlo Park to a surprise mariachi band from the bride to the groom that played as the wedding party recessed down the aisle. The ceremony was followed by their wedding reception at Saratoga Foothill Club. The design displayed equal parts elegance, old world charm and romance with colors of pale green, peach, cream and gold. The head table was accented with bridal bouquets, a row of baby’s breath, lanterns and stunning gold vases. The moment guests were invited into the reception room, they entered a room of warmth, with candlelight creating a golden hue glow, and statement centerpieces that overflowed with beautiful dinner plate dahlias, hydrangeas, garden roses, dusty miller and eucalyptus leaves.
