There's something so magical about the coastline in Maine. The air just feels different there so I was super excited when I saw this pretty wedding sitting in my calendar. It's clear that the location had a lot of influence on the design and I'm loving how sweet and pretty the blue bridesmaids dresses are and I'm just slightly obsessed with the big, red bows they are rocking. Total Maine Perfection. emilie inc. snapped up all the goodies for us and there's a whole gallery just waiting to inspire you!
From the Bride... My husband and I met while I was living and working in London. We had an immediate connection and dated long distance for over a year before I was able to move to Chicago. After three years of dating, Tim proposed on a cold, wintery night in Chicago with a beautiful ring that he had purchased in my home state of Maine. Although we were living in Chicago, we both knew that we wanted to be married in Maine. Maine has always been very special to me and throughout our relationship, it has also become very important to Tim.
Our two venue requirements were that we wanted to be outside and be able to fully personalize the space. So when we found the rustic Wentworth Lodge, we knew it would deliver on both counts! The gorgeous ocean setting was the driving force behind most of the wedding decor choices, from the flower arrangements to the place settings. We wanted the event to be classic and feel warm and intimate. When picturing our day, we decided there were several key elements that were extremely important — photography, band, food and lighting. Each of our vendors surpassed our expectations, and words cannot convey how grateful we were for their kindness and professionalism. The day was a dream — being surrounded by family and friends to celebrate such a happy moment was priceless.
So as you can imagine, we were over the moon when we got a sneak peak of our gorgeous photographs while on our honeymoon. Reliving the emotions of our wedding day while watching the sunset on our lanai in Hawaii was a moment we will never forget.
